An Incomplete Divorce (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 71
The movement that had been silently sobbing in the afternoon darkness finally stilled.
A brief silence fell.
Johann twisted his wrist to check his pocket watch. Just as he began to grow irritated by the meaningless passage of time, Christian broke the silence.
“I should release her from our engagement. It’s not as if we’re some tearfully devoted couple—who’d want to live tied to someone like me now? Soon enough, the Crown Prince will be nothing but a useless cripple.”
Christian, his face still damp, let out a dry chuckle and snatched the slender neck of a liquor bottle.
His life ended right here. Who could have possibly foreseen that a simple fall from a horse would lead to this?
Only alcohol could momentarily numb him from the horrifying nightmare that was utterly unbearable in his right mind.
“Convey that message.”
“Not even a word of comfort?”
Christian sneered, tilting the bottle to take a swig of brandy.
“Do you want some?”
“Piss off.”
Without hesitation, Johann turned and walked away.
Behind him, as he crossed the dimly lit bedroom, an odd sound—somewhere between laughter and weeping—reached his ears, but he decided not to pay it any mind.
There was no comfort to offer for consequences one had brought upon oneself.

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”
