Their voices rose intentionally, drawing all eyes in the cafeteria to Olivia. Their lips curled up in mockery beneath scornful glances.

Olivia could have clarified that these were unverified facts recklessly spread by the media.

But would they believe her? To them, the truth didn’t seem to matter. Disgracing Olivia Blanchett was a petty amusement in their dull lives.

They loathed the fact that she, a woman out of her league, had taken the Duchess’s place, adorned in more expensive dresses and jewels than them, and had a higher social standing thanks to her husband.

Engaging with such people was pointless.

The terms of the alimony were Johann’s decision. Even so, they wouldn’t believe her. They wanted Olivia to be humiliated.

So, she decided to play it strong.

“I didn’t know my husband owned an island. Had I known, I would have asked for it. Such a pity.”

Olivia feigned regret with a laugh.

“If you ever need a capable lawyer, let me know. I’ll introduce you. You never know what life may bring.”

“How dare she…”

“Ever since the divorce, I’ve realized it’s not the husband that’s important in life, but money.”

A cold elegance flowed from Olivia’s smile.

She didn’t want to show them the Olivia Blanchett they expected. To prove she was no longer the Olivia they knew, she wore an even prouder smile.

The women gaped in shock.

She’s gone mad after the divorce!

The Olivia they were used to always shrank back, unable to speak a word, glued to the wall in humiliation because of her scandalous origin.

Even with the title of Duchess Leopold, she was treated as invisible in society.
The noblewomen’s lips spasmed in fury, having been humiliated by someone they deemed so lowly and disgraceful.

“Your necklace is really pretty.”

As she turned to leave, Olivia commented on Elaine’s necklace, which had been catching her eye.

“It suits you well.”

The unexpected compliment shifted everyone’s attention to Elaine’s neck.

It was a lavish pink diamond necklace, sparkling in the light. It was Elaine’s pride, a gift from her husband on their seventh wedding anniversary.

“You do have taste.”

Elaine spoke arrogantly, lifting her chin.

“But if you consider dignity, it’s better not to wear fakes. It makes the person look fake too.”

Ignoring the flushed woman, Olivia walked out to the terrace with Ann, leaving the scolding noblewomen behind. The scent of early-blooming red roses was intoxicating.

Walking through the rose garden, the two strolled quietly. The lush scent of the full-bloomed roses was tantalizing.

Ann observed Olivia’s composed walk. She realized that the unfamiliar lady she had become no longer hid in the shadows.

“I didn’t think you remembered.”

Ann adjusted Olivia’s blouse ribbon, fluttering in the breeze.

“Remember what?”

“…That necklace.”

Silence fell between them, filled only by the rustling spring breeze. They both reminisced about the same day.

One day, a commotion erupted at Great Hill over a missing heirloom of the former Duchess.

The necklace, seemingly vanished, was found in Ann’s room within minutes of searching.

“I didn’t do it, I swear. Please believe me.”

It was a clear frame-up, but no one believed Ann. Not even Olivia.

“I’m sorry, Ann. For making you go through that.”

“No, it wasn’t about that. I just… back then…”

Ann stopped, unable to voice her thoughts.

She should have warned Olivia not to trust Diane Brook, or to be cautious of the Duke’s secretary, who harbored ill intentions. But she didn’t.

“Warned about what?”

“…Nothing, my lady.”

Ann chose to hold back, fearing it might strain their repaired relationship. It wasn’t a pleasant story to tell, and it was all in the past now.

“Let’s go over there, my lady.”

They quickly moved to another part of the garden, exuding sophisticated charm befitting an urban hotel. Whoever owned the hotel was certainly romantic.

Roses bloomed in every direction. In the center, a large fountain spewed cool streams of water, surrounded by intricately trimmed yew hedges in exotic patterns.

As they walked, the warm sunshine bathed Olivia and Ann.

Silently strolling, they reached a well-kept path leading to a tennis court. Approaching, they heard the sound of vigorous breaths and cheers.

On the grass court, two gentlemen were playing. Even from a distance, the sight of a man in a white dress shirt and flannel trousers swinging his racket was captivating.

Olivia stopped to watch, her gaze drawn to a tall man whose agile and graceful movements shone in the sunlight, his black hair glistening, reminiscent of an elegant wild beast.
The man, catching his breath, tossed the ball into the air. Olivia tilted her head, following the lime green ball against the dazzling blue sky. Han Ji-an’s summer unfolded above.

Memories of summer sunburns, used as an excuse to be with him during tennis, and the suffocating chorus of cicadas came back vividly.

Why did she fall for him with such painful passion?

Her palms, calloused from holding the racket, and feet, blistered from exertion, adored him. He likely never knew the extent of her desperate struggles.

Yet, every moment was a joy.

To him, she was probably just the granddaughter of a housemaid who helped around. But for Ji-an, he was her first love.

As if breaking her reverie, a short roar accompanied the racket striking the ball with tremendous speed. The onlookers erupted in cheers. Young ladies clapped and cheered, unable to take their eyes off the man.

The audience surrounding the tennis court applauded the winner of the game.

“He’s so impressive!”

“If only he would glance here once.”

The ladies whispered shyly, mesmerized by the man. His well-groomed hair glistened with sweat as he walked across the court with ease.

His stride, that of a victor, carried an imperial arrogance, like the ruler of all he surveyed.

When yandere male lead believes she loves him — but she never did

“How dare you!”

“How dare you make me love you, only to cast me aside as nothing more than a friend?!?

“I will never accept that.”

“I will never let you return to him.”

“Even if I have to burn myself to ashes.”

“Even if I must shatter my purity, my dignity, my very soul.”

“I will never let you escape me!”

This was the first novel that introduced me to the matriarchal genre. I’ve read it three times already!

At first, the male lead despised the female lead. Later, he misunderstood that she liked him, so he condescendingly and reluctantly reciprocated her feelings.

Then, he suddenly discovered that she was kind to everyone in the same way, and there was already someone she cherished in her heart, and that person was not him.

The male lead couldn’t believe it, he became angry and crazy. He was determined to capture her body and heart by any means necessary.

Synopsis:

Want to see how a green tea bitch male lead falls in love with the female lead?

Want to see how he flirtatiously pursues the female lead?

Want to see how he gets slapped in the face repeatedly?

The male lead is a green tea bitch, a poisonous lotus, jealous, ruthless, unscrupulous, with a venomous heart, and he’s also a delusional maniac.

The female lead is righteous, positive energy-filled, kind, a holy mother.

Let’s see how two people with extreme personalities come together~
