Amidst the still, almost slumbering world, Olivia carefully got up and went to the window. The clear sky, as if stained with cerulean blue paint, twinkled with dawn stars.

The sky, no different from the one in her original world, seemed to stretch endlessly, perhaps leading to the world where Han Ji-an lived.

‘I wonder if he’s safe?’

The image of a man gently ruffling Ji-an’s hair with a big hand and smiling came to mind, filling her with an indescribable longing.

“My lady?”

Startled by Anne’s voice from behind, Olivia reflexively turned around. Anne, propping up her upper body, looked at her.

“Sorry, did I wake you?”

“No. I usually wake up around this time. It must’ve been uncomfortable for you because of me. I can sleep on the floor.”

“It’s not because of you, Anne. The wind felt so nice, that’s why I woke up. Want to come see?”

Olivia smiled and gestured, then turned back to the window. Anne, tousling her disheveled hair, slipped on her slippers and stood beside her lady.

“I really like this time, and sunset too. It feels like watching the world’s most dreamy landscape painting. Look, isn’t it beautiful?”

The boundary between the gas lamps’ crimson glow and the blue of the dawn began to blur, as the sun’s red hue started to paint the world from the sea, where they had disembarked.

“It really is…beautiful.”

The two stood by the window for a while, not moving.

Duke Johann Leopold, who recently acquired a steel company, sat in his office chair, puffing on a cigar, irritably scanning the acquisition contract.

He had managed to acquire it at a fair price, but due to one pesky fish muddying the waters, he ended up paying ten thousand pounds more than planned.

In other words, Johann was quite annoyed at the moment, and his aide, Morris, found himself in a rather difficult situation.

Morris took a deep breath internally before speaking.
“Reporting on Olivia Leopold, Duchess, uh, correction, Olivia Blanchett,” Morris began, clearing his throat nervously as he met the gaze of Johann, who was glaring with barely concealed irritation.

“Ms. Blanchett is currently…”

He hesitated to continue.

“Now, what?”

Johann’s low voice, laden with impatience, made Morris quickly place a photograph on the desk instead of answering, and he stepped back swiftly.

Johann grasped the situation as he picked up the photograph.

In the sharply developed picture, two women entering a building were unmistakable; one was undoubtedly his former wife. But what caught Johann’s attention was something else.

With a suddenly fierce look, Johann raised his head, prompting Morris to stutter.

“As you can see, she’s currently… staying at the Lancelot Hotel.”

“Here?”

“Yes, sir.”

Following Morris’s response, silence ensued.

After a few seconds, Johann’s gaze slowly shifted back to the photograph. He sighed shallowly and habitually brushed back his hair, his eyes drifting into the void before closing.

Was she intent on provoking him from a distance, now that she couldn’t do so by his side? Why else would she choose, of all places, a hotel in a tourist city, and particularly the hotel owned by Edgar Lancaster?

Ah, so that was it.

Johann’s expression turned visibly displeased.

The answer to why she went to Britt, where she had no connections, lay here.

Edgar.

His mood was already soured by the recent steel company acquisition, muddled by the man who interfered, and now his ex-wife joined in, plunging his mood further into the depths.

How did Edgar learn of the acquisition deal Johann was secretly orchestrating?

Although Johann knew Edgar had his spies, just as he had his own, the possibility that Olivia Blanchett might be involved had never crossed his mind.

Since when?

The ashes from the cigar he had failed to smoke entirely fell onto the desk. As seeds of suspicion were sown, they grew uncontrollably.

Blood cannot be denied, is it?

Johann opened his eyes.

“Keep a close watch on what they’re up to.”

After giving the signal that Morris could leave, Johann looked back at the photograph.

Olivia.

Perhaps he had been too hasty in granting the divorce. When a woman who claimed she couldn’t live without his love suddenly requested a divorce, there must have been something more.

Johann felt the need to ponder what he had overlooked.

On their third morning at the Lancelot Hotel, Olivia and Anne lazed in bed until hunger finally drove them downstairs to the cafeteria for a late breakfast.

Anne occasionally worried if such a peaceful life might turn her lazy, but as soon as the lavish three-tiered tray was set on the table, she momentarily set aside her worries and picked up her fork.

Following Anne’s lead, Olivia enthusiastically took her cutlery.

Now, she had to live her life in this unfamiliar world, no longer as herself but as Olivia Blanchett.

Although nothing was certain and the future was unclear, she decided to take it slow.

For now, she was content just to have escaped the shadow of Johann Leopold.

The plates were filled with delectable desserts topped with lush spring strawberries.

“How did you find such a wonderful place, my lady?”

Olivia had studied a guidebook for tourists during the journey on the ship, learning about Litten.
Dipping a large strawberry into the whipped cream and about to put it in her mouth, Olivia answered with a laugh.

“The strawberry fraisier here is said to be the best in Litten.”

Olivia smiled radiantly as she popped the strawberry into her mouth and chewed contentedly.

At that moment, to Anne, Olivia seemed like the happiest person in the world. Anne also scooped up some strawberry pudding and savored the instant sweetness.

Watching Olivia, who still loved sweet foods as before, Anne thought it was fortunate that at least one thing about her lady hadn’t changed.

After voraciously finishing off the tray, they neatly cleared the table and sipped coffee and tea with milk and honey.

It was a peaceful afternoon, with the lazy sunlight of spring streaming through the windows and a gentle piano melody playing from the gramophone.

The cafeteria, quiet earlier, began to fill up with customers who came for tea after their lunch.

It was then that a group of noblewomen entered. A woman, who had been pondering over which dress to wear to the Rose Ball, suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

“Oh my, isn’t that the woman over there? The Duchess of Leopold!”

All eyes of the noblewomen turned in the direction pointed out by the fan. There, in front of the sunny glass window, sat a woman, laughing and having tea with her maid.

“My goodness!”

It was unmistakably Olivia Blanchett.

When the male lead is punished by carrying the female lead’s child and having periods like a woman

“I’ve given birth to two children for you, yet you still think about him.

Was I nothing but his substitute to you from beginning to end?”
