It was just then, as our steps were about to shift toward the side of the truck.

“Oh, Director Kim—and Writer Lee, too.”

PD Kang suddenly emerged from behind the truck. He seemed to be just about to take a sip of coffee; the moment he spotted us, he quickly pulled back his lips—already touching the cup—and hastily greeted us.

“Director Kim, I’ll enjoy this coffee. They packed the cookies and macarons so beautifully. You know my taste.”

PD Kang popped a white-cream-filled macaron into his mouth as he spoke. Was that macaron really meant to be eaten in one bite?

No, more than that—it was his greeting to Jun that I couldn’t quite grasp right away. Jun and I had literally just arrived. Yet PD Kang was already saying he’d enjoy the coffee Jun supposedly gave him.

After PD Kang left, Jun paused mid-step and asked me, looking puzzled.

“Don’t you get it yet?”

“Huh?”

“Lee Ha Ru—are you just not interested in me at all, or do you not care anymore because you’ve already accepted that I’m your man now?”

“……Huh?”

“Never mind. Let’s go. I was worried—if you hadn’t figured it out right away—that maybe I’d accidentally left the real Lee Ha Ru back at home.”

Jun gave my back a light tap, urging me to just keep walking. And as we walked, we kept repeating similar exchanges like, “Just come on, you’ll understand when we get there.”

It was right as we were about to turn the corner of the truck.

“Huh?”
