“Well, it’s just… um… the wind feels really nice.”
I made up an excuse. I turned my head away from Jun and felt the wind coming through the window gap. I took a deep breath. The smooth wind made my refreshed heart cool.
I wondered if someone secretly moved our house near the broadcasting station with their fingers. We arrived so quickly.
Time seems to pass several times faster when I’m with Jun. Is this what they call the theory of relativity I’ve heard about? Jun is on a business trip starting today. I won’t be able to see him for a few days.
I was blaming the unchanged distance between the broadcasting station and our house on physics. It’s all useless. I know it’s useless.
“We’re here.”
Perhaps Jun also felt the same way, as Jun’s voice blurred like cursive at the end.
“Yeah.”
I answered quietly, pressing down my regret as if holding back a period mark.
After parking the car on the first floor, a few steps forward brought us right to the main gate.
Jun is pressed for time even if he leaves for the station right away. I was enduring well the words he might have said as a twenty-year-old, insisting that he shouldn’t be late, that he shouldn’t skip it.

“Hurry and go. You’ll be late.”
I casually said words I didn’t even mean.
“Yeah. I need to.”
I quietly listened to words that I didn’t like.
“But I forgot something.”
Jun spoke with a low voice.
‘What?’ I was about to ask, but Jun, who had approached me unnoticed, wrapped his arms around my shoulders and pulled me into his embrace.
It felt a bit embarrassing as he held me too tightly. I tried to push my back a little, and Jun’s somewhat tired voice reached my ears.
“Let’s recharge.”
At that moment, I felt as if the weight of Jun’s tired body was being fully conveyed to me.

He must have spent days without properly resting since coming to Korea. How exhausting it must have been. Considering the mental strain he went through because of me.
In my heartache, I gently hugged Jun’s waist, who had bowed his head deeply. With my right hand, I patted Jun’s back soothingly.
It seemed like we had been hugging for quite a while. However, Jun didn’t seem to have any intention of getting up. There’s no time. What if his schedule falls apart?
“Is the recharge not complete yet?”
I asked carefully with a worried heart.
“Yeah.”
“Still not done?”
“Yeah. It’s far.”
His firm answer made the concern of the one who asked seem pointless.
“But still, we should go. What if it’s already late?”

“That’s true.”
Even though I said that, Jun didn’t budge. I, who thought it wouldn’t work, grabbed Jun’s waist and pushed with force. Jun reluctantly released the arms that were around my shoulders.
With a helpless expression, Jun adjusted his hat and began to fix his hair. The air, exhaled like a sigh, settled down.
“Work is work. Go without being late.”
I silently looked up at Jun fixing his messy hair. It’s time to send him off. Hoping not to reveal too much of my regret, I bit my lips and just looked at Jun.
And then, just as Jun was about to fix his hat after tidying his hair.
Jun’s head tilted to the side, and in an instant, it approached me. My lips touched Jun’s lips directly. Something that happened in the blink of an eye.
Startled, I opened my eyes wide and took a step back. By then, Jun had already raised his upper body, smiling deeply.
“Charging complete.”
Jun said with a playful tone.

“Now I can endure for about 3 days with this.”
Jun scratched the back of his neck with his right hand and winked. Probably, my surprised face, which opened my mouth slightly and looked foolish, was also captured by Jun.
Laughing a little embarrassed, I finally stretched my lips to the side and looked away.
Jun scratched the back of his neck with his right hand and winked. Perhaps, my face with a slightly open mouth and a dumbfounded expression would have been captured in Jun’s eyes.
Even my face, which eventually stretched my lips widely and laughed, making a forced smile.
“But still, I think you’re so cool. Your appearance while working, and the way you love your work. It’s unbelievable that such a cool man is my boyfriend…”
“Why is your voice getting smaller as you go back?”
Caught up in the atmosphere, I blurted out whatever came to mind. By the time I finished speaking, embarrassment that had sprung up somewhere gradually spread through my cheeks and earlobes, and my voice had become as small as an ant by the time I finished speaking.
Just let it go. Expressing things in words like this requires great courage for me.
“Lee Haru says that a man who works hard like you is cool. I can’t help but look cool if I keep looking like this. Go to work quickly.”
For a moment, it seemed like he was going to say something sarcastic, but suddenly Jun started to make a somewhat serious expression. Soon, Jun solemnly met my eyes, indicating that he had to leave now.

It was like a warm gaze that wrapped around my body like a cozy blanket.
Wanting to cover Jun with an even bigger and warmer blanket, I quietly gazed into his eyes for a little longer. Jun’s eyes slightly curved.
“Well, then I’ll be going.”
When facing a slightly longer separation than usual, I realized, thanks to Jun, that saying “I’ll be back” rather than “I’m leaving” could make the other person feel much more relieved.
I, surprised by your sudden kiss, took a step back in the wind and closed the gap that had opened between us in one step. Then, I hugged you first.
“It’s nice, isn’t it? Why are you suddenly so regretful about not being able to endure it once you’re about to leave?”
Saying this, Jun placed his arms around my body.
“I charged it with all my might, but it feels like it just dropped by 1% now.”
“It won’t decrease when I’m with you. Don’t worry.”
It’s really serious. It’s just a matter of spending three days apart, but what if you go back to Japan later?

Whether you know my feelings or not, your hand stroking my head was so affectionate that tears welled up.
On a day like this, it’s okay to be a little less affectionate.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
