Acts We Shouldn't Do (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 42
Jae In checked Tae Seo’s message and opened the dressing room door. She remembered his words—“Wear something comfortable, just like you normally would”—but she couldn’t bring herself to dress too casually.
Jae In admitted to herself the mix of excitement and nervous tension as she stood on the verge of making a decision. This time, she intended to wear something she truly cherished. She wanted to meet Kang Tae Seo exactly as Yoon Jae In.
And she wanted to tell him—just who she really was. She would leave it entirely up to him to decide what it would mean to be tied to her.
Even if he blamed her, she believed it was the right thing to do. She only hoped he wouldn’t get hurt too deeply.
“Maybe this could be the last time.”
She knew Tae Seo might get angry upon learning she’d approached him with an agenda. He’d have every right to be furious. Today might very well be their final meeting.
She had wrestled endlessly between her conscience urging her to confess everything and her stubbornness warning her not to, all for the sake of her goal. Ultimately, she’d decided to give him the choice.
Truthfully, she now feared his disappointment and anger more than she worried about things falling apart.
She didn’t want to drift apart—from Kang Tae Seo.
“What even is this feeling?”
Jae In wiped away the bitter regret spreading through her and picked up an outfit. She clenched her jaw, trying to appear calm, but her conflicted emotions betrayed her, tinged with unavoidable guilt.
As soon as Jae In stepped out of the house on time, ready to go, a security guard guided her. A car sent by Tae Seo waited right outside.
The gleaming sedan was completely different—both in model and color—from the one Jae In had disliked last time. Sitting on the mother-of-pearl leather seats, all the way to Kang Seon Art Center, she felt her cheeks tingle from his thoughtful consideration.
She’d forgotten her tangled thoughts altogether, too busy calming her fluttering heart. Before she knew it, the car had stopped, and the moment the door opened, a large hand suddenly appeared before her eyes.
