“Yuri, that… you know, that kid who used to live with your family back then?”

How could there be just one or two like that? Her parents had brought home several children to live with them, all in the name of refreshing the company’s public image.

Their house had a separate annex and plenty of rooms, so encounters were rare—but for Yuri, they were still a group she wanted nothing to do with.

Yuri placed her phone on the table with a blank expression, pressing the speakerphone button.

“I’m kind of busy right now. If it’s not important, let’s talk later.”

The bag her dad, Jo Dae Hoon, had brought back from his business trip to China the other day was a model unavailable in Korea.

She set the bag on the chair across from her and arranged tea and scones neatly on the table.

Yuri was carefully working in her room, skipping dinner entirely, preparing to upload a new photo to her SNS account—a platform she ran with an elegant, aristocratic aesthetic.

Then, a call came in from a high school classmate, the youngest daughter of N Foods. Wondering what she wanted to talk about, Yuri soon realized it was nothing important.

Hearing the unmistakable description of Yoon Jae In, Yuri picked up her phone. She turned off the speaker and glared resentfully at the teacup.

“I saw her. She’s changed a bit compared to back then. I guess you could say she’s even more beautiful now? I mean, she was always stunning enough to rival celebrities, but now she’s even prettier. When she showed up, everyone…”

“Never mind that. Where did you see her?”
