‘Why was she so kind to me? It’s true we only briefly saw each other at the hospital, but still, she greeted me first? And even went out of her way to come inside the café?’

Tae Seo’s hand, which had been aimlessly drawing countless circles, now began drawing endless question marks.

‘She’s someone so used to keeping an iron wall up. A woman who said men were awful—why did she approach me first? What was she thinking?’

Now Tae Seo was biting his lip, circling the question marks over and over.

‘Could she possibly have fallen for me? Well, I’m not exactly lacking anywhere… No, wait, she said only I could hear the bell. She didn’t look at me once the whole time we ate cold noodles. That means I’m not even worth as much as cold noodles to her.’

Tae Seo’s thick eyebrows twisted slightly. Still, his face remained excessively handsome.

‘Good grief. It’s the first time I’ve seen a woman slurp noodles that skillfully in front of me. But why does even that look pretty?’

At that thought, Tae Seo’s hand stopped. After glaring at the question marks with a frozen expression for a moment, he let out a ridiculous smile. It was an expression that openly revealed both embarrassment and disbelief.

“Ha, I’m really losing it.”

The words slipped out unconsciously at the end of his wandering thoughts. The conference room instantly fell silent. Manager Hwang and Manager Kim, who had been loudly arguing while momentarily forgetting Tae Seo was there, cautiously rolled their lips inward and watched him.

“…Managing Director.”

Executive Director Jang, standing beside him, quietly took one more step closer and called out to him. Only then did Tae Seo realize he had been zoning out in a meeting that was going nowhere.

“Let’s end today’s meeting here. Everything you’ve all said today is already in the reports I’ve read. If this is how it’s going to be, why waste time holding a meeting? Until further instructions, there will be no more meetings regarding the Hwami Apartment project. Any additional matters will be received only through reports.”

Tae Seo stood up abruptly and opened the conference room door. Even without the Hwami Apartment issue, he had mountains of work to do. He had no time to waste like this.
