“What, what…?”
Yu Ri’s face turned beet red, which Tae Seo found amusing.
With a slanted smile, Tae Seo straightened his torso and sunk deep into his chair.
Jun Kyung, Tae Seo’s college classmate, had once said that everyone coveted Jo Yu Ri. However, the actual Yu Ri he met, from her way of speaking to every expression, didn’t fit his taste.
“You have a sister, right? Your sister, Yoon Jae In. You really didn’t know?”
Tae Seo looked at a stiff Yu Ri, whose face was twisted as if she’d bitten a bug, and lifted one corner of his lips.
“Do you think people in the world wouldn’t know once the people from Hyun Yang Construction’s chairman’s family close their eyes?”
After glaring at Tae Seo for a while with her lips tightly closed from anger and shock, Yu Ri looked around casually and took a sip of water. However, she couldn’t hide her trembling hands.
“Who, who’s my sister? I never had a sister in my life. Furthermore, Yoon Jae In, she was just sponsored by my mother’s foundation…”
“Her? Even if the difference in birthdays is only a few months, if the year of birth is different, you should treat her as an older sister, shouldn’t you?”
Tae Seo tilted his head askew and propped his elbow on the armrest of the chair. He slowly folded his graceful hand and supported his chin on it, his expression lethargically fatal.
Not long ago, he had heard about Yoon Jae In again at a drinking party that his college friend had dragged him to welcome his return to the country.
“Do you know about this, almost no one does, but do you know the actress Yoon Se Na?”
“I…don’t know.”
“Well, you wouldn’t know. You haven’t lived in Korea for years.”
Jun Kyung, his college classmate, was the youngest of the Yu Won Group. Growing up under the indulgence of his three sisters, he loved gossip and enjoyed boasting about trivial stories as if they were something extraordinary.
Tae Seo just thought it was one of those stories that day.

Of course, Tae Seo knew Yoon Se Na, the biological mother of Yoon Jae In. However, to him, Yoon Jae In was a woman who should be buried in his memory.
Therefore, he was planning to just play along with Jun Kyung’s gossip and let it pass.
“No, that’s not it. Listen. One day, Yoon Se Na suddenly retired and disappeared. Was it about two months before Chairman Jo Sung Hwan’s death? There are quite a few people who saw Yoon Se Na boarding a plane to the U.S. at the airport. They said she was quite pregnant.
“And then?”
“She went in as a mistress of a chaebol, had some politician’s child. All sorts of rumors were going around. But do you know when all those rumors suddenly got cleaned up?”
“When was that.”
Tae Seo responded nonchalantly to match the tempo. Jun Kyung continued whispering, checking his surroundings as if he was sharing a great secret.
“It was after Jo Dae Hoon became the third chairman of Hyun Yang Construction. It’s said that all the media buzz about actress Yoon Se Na’s retirement and disappearance disappeared overnight.”
“So, that woman is the second wife of the Hyun Yang chairman?”
“No. The problem is, she’s not the second, she’s the first. For several years now, there’s been a rumor in Chicago’s Korean town that Yoon Se Na has been living with her daughter. But if you calculate that daughter’s age, it seems she’s a year older than Chairman Jo Dae Hoon’s daughter.”
“So.”
“So what? You, you got engaged before that Chairman Jo Dae Hoon’s daughter was even born. I’m talking about your fiancée Jo Yu Ri.”
“What engagement. I haven’t even seen her face once.”
Tae Seo snorted and lifted his glass filled with dark honeycolored whiskey. It meant that if Jun Kyung knew about this, there might be more people who knew than he thought.
Tae Seo clicked his tongue lightly and swallowed the bitter whiskey. He didn’t like that a woman he hardly knew was being gossiped about.
“Maybe your engagement partner has changed. It’s not the highnosed Jo Yu Ri, but the woman living in Chicago could be your real fiancée.”
“What does it matter if it changes or doesn’t, when I’m not going to get married anyway.”
“……You’re not going to marry Jo Yu Ri? Breaking off the engagement? Wasn’t that your grandfather’s will?”
“Are you crazy? No matter what the will says, in what era would I marry a woman I’ve never even seen?”
Even when Jun Kyung looked at Tae Seo in shock, he was calm. He planned to convince Jo’s mother soon and get rid of that damned engagement thing.
Back then, he had finished studying abroad, and he was old enough, so he had no intention of responding to Jo’s mother’s words to meet his fiancée, the daughter of the chairman of Hyun Yang Construction, and proceed with the marriage.

A fiancée he’d never even seen before, it’s not the Joseon era, what should he know about her.
“Hey, since when has Jo Yu Ri been touting herself as the future daughterinlaw of the Kang Sun Group!”
“Indeed. That woman is also thoughtless.”
“Are you really not doing it? Then did Jo Yu Ri spread that by herself?”
“There are many women who go around saying they slept with me.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
