The weather these past few days was as fickle as a lie. Starting from dawn, it began to boast a clear sky, and the weather was better than ever. The wind was gentle, and the sunlight sparkled softly.
Within that beautiful scenery stood Jaein. Her slightly disheveled wedding dress hem fluttered in the sea breeze, creating a light, shadowy image.
Jaein, who had just sipped a refreshing sip of champagne, smiled at Sanghwa approaching her.
The tiara and wedding shoes Amber brought as gifts were discarded long ago.
When the ceremony ended, the single flower Taeso pinned to her ear perfectly complemented her upstyled hair, accentuating her innocence.
On this day that would be remembered as an utterly perfect one, Taeso and Jaein pledged to each other in front of their precious people that they would not change.
Finally, the two became a married couple. And now it was party time. The subtle lights began to illuminate the beach as the sun began to set.
“Jaein.”
“Yeah?”
“What should I do? After seeing your wedding, I feel like I can never get married at Samdeok Wedding Hall.”

“Samdeok Wedding Hall?”
“…Yes. The only wedding hall in my mom and dad’s hometown. The bride’s waiting room has only one small wardrobe, not lying.”
“Yeah…?”
“Mrs. Bae’s son got married there…”
“Ah…”
“The food there is delicious. The people who work there put their all into it, using the best ingredients, like a neighborhood feast… Ah, it’s a real neighborhood feast wedding.”
Jaein burst into laughter at Sanghwa’s grumbling.
“Do you have any thoughts about getting married?”
“If I do, I think I should marry Ted… but something doesn’t feel right. Ted has been watching me closely lately. It seems like Mrs. Bae and I are scheming something, but what if he proposes?”
“Hmm…”

“I don’t want to make Ted cry, and I don’t want to disappoint him… Do you know how old Ted is?”
“What does age matter?”
“…And he keeps saying he wants a baby. Well, Ted is a baby himself, why bring another baby?”
“He says he’s not scared of anything, but where did the bold Sanghwa who used to say, ‘Just rush in’ go?”
“Yeah, as you live, you become more and more afraid.”
Jaein nodded wholeheartedly at Sanghwa’s words.
After her mom passed away, she used to be someone who wasn’t scared of anything. That’s why she dared to think about revenge and even contemplated seducing and using a man like Kang Taeso.
However, as she got to know him and fell in love with him, she became more and more afraid. She was afraid that he would be in pain more than her, and it frightened her. She worried that the world would make things difficult for him, and many nights were spent tossing and turning in bed.
With days filled with what seemed like a lifetime of luck and happiness, Jaein, too, sometimes had nightmares due to vague fears. Could unexpected events shatter this happiness? That fear haunted her.
However, whenever that happened, Taeso was always there for her. He would gently wipe her sweaty forehead, pat her back, and embrace her, soothing her. In those moments, Jaein could forget about any anxiety and fully enjoy pure happiness.
“Jaein, don’t be scared. What is there to worry about?”

“Just…”
“People who gather to bless your future and wish you happiness are here. Jaein, you will surely be happy for a long, long time.”
“Thank you.”
“Thank you for inviting me to such a perfect wedding.”
“If it’s not you, who else would come?”
“Right, it has to be me. It’s our Jaein’s wedding.”
At Sanghwa’s words, saying that it seemed like the wind of every bride’s wish in the world could be fulfilled, Jaein smiled.
Taeso’s villa, a wedding venue set up on a private beach, was filled with the fragrance of vibrant flowers. Only a handful of guests were present. Overflowing with sincere blessings, words of congratulations flowed abundantly.
“But when will I become your aunt?”
“…Huh?”

“Look at Mr. Kang Taeso looking at you. He usually looks at you like a piece of candy, but today he looks very eager to lick. Just by looking into his eyes, it’s like a wedding reception, and he seems like he wants to hug you right away.”
In response to Sanghwa’s teasing, Jaein’s eyes turned towards Taeso, who was talking with Amber’s boyfriend. Even from my perspective, he seemed to have honey dripping from his eyes, ready to run to her side at any moment.
Laughter erupted. Jaein, who had set down her champagne, removed the hairpin that had been securing her lifted hair and handed it to Sanghwa.
“Wait for nine months.”
“…Huh?”
“Even if the bride and groom disappear for a moment during the wedding reception, it’s okay. Just wait.”
As if she wanted to rush to Taeso right away, Jaein’s determined gaze startled Sanghwa, who blinked in surprise. She soon burst into laughter and stopped Jaein.
“No matter how urgent, it’s not allowed right now.”
“Oh, it’s not allowed?”
“Yeah. Even if you disappear, you should do the event prepared by me and Mrs. Bae and then disappear. Wait and see.”

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
