“I really must have entered a tiger’s den.”
Seated on the sofa in the first-floor living room, Jae In pulled her legs close.
“…Make sure to lock the cat gate on the stairs when you go up to the second floor to sleep.”
“Oh, don’t worry about the cat. I’ll make sure to close it tightly.”
“It’s not that. I might go up.”
“…”
“I don’t want to wake you.”
“…”
“And I don’t want to bother you all night.”
Jae In’s breath hitched as she recalled the conversation they had before Tae Seo left, near the front door. She pressed her heated cheeks to her drawn-up knees, waiting for her breath to steady and her blush to fade. Only then did she take in the unique look of the living room.

The living room wasn’t very large. She had expected a bare feeling, given that a man lived alone, but the space felt cozy with its strategically placed lighting and souvenirs that seemed to have been personally collected by Tae Seo.
Rising with cheeks still flushed, Jae In didn’t dare to open the door to the bedroom on the first floor where he slept. Peering into the small kitchen inside the living room, she discovered stairs adjacent to the bedroom.
There were stairs going down and others leading up. It seemed the house had a basement as well.
She hadn’t had a chance to look at the exterior of the house when they arrived at night. Debating with herself, she decided to ascend the stairs to the second floor where she would be staying. She was curious about every corner of Tae Seo’s house but thought it best to wait and explore it with him when he returned.
“Was this the cat gate between the first and second floors?”
Jae In laughed upon finding the cat gate installed midway up the stairs.
The gate, extending from floor to ceiling, was made of narrow metal bars linked together—clearly designed to keep out just one cat.
She chuckled at the unexpectedly flimsy gate, which exceeded her imagination. She carefully opened the gate and continued up the remaining stairs.
“Uh…?”
A familiar scene unfolded before her. Jae In’s eyes grew rounder as she looked back down the stairs she had climbed, then back to the second-floor space.

“This is Tae Seo’s house?”
She laughed again. This was the same place she had come to with Tae Seo’s invitation when she first decided to visit the Kang Sun Art Center, with Manager Jang’s assistance. The same warmth and comfort that had greeted her then enveloped her now.
She had felt a familiar atmosphere and scent fill the house as soon as she entered Tae Seo’s home, but she never realized it was the same house. Previously, she had entered through a door on the second floor connected to a large garden and thought the second floor was the first.
She had been curious about the homeowner the first time she visited the house. She had imagined a woman with high tastes, but now, knowing that Tae Seo was the owner, made her smile.
Compared to the first floor, the living room and kitchen were much larger, and the paintings hanging in the middle of the living room captured Jae In’s attention, holding her in amazement.
“Ah, there used to be a cat tower here…”
Inside the room with the door open, there was a large bed, a wardrobe, a vanity that could also be used as a desk, and a comfortable-looking armchair. The large room, which had been the cat’s dwelling, was now transformed into a space for her.
Thinking about the man who must have prepared all this in just one day, she felt a tickling sensation on her cheeks.
Then, a scratching sound came from behind the closed door. As Jae In quietly approached, a long meow sounded out, as if the cat was asking for the door to be opened.
“It’s you.”
Jae In, who was about to open the door with delight, paused, remembering Tae Seo’s words about his cat allergy. After thinking it over, she removed her hand from the doorknob.

“Sorry. I’d love to see you too… but let’s say hello tomorrow.”
She whispered softly, squatting by the door.
“When Tae Seo comes back later, I think I won’t be able to help but hug him.”
She bit her lip, feeling somehow embarrassed by her own words, but she was thankful to him for providing such a warm space for her.
“That’s why… I don’t think I should hug you first.”
Jae In’s cheeks blushed once more as she touched the door where the cat was scratching.
The funeral, conducted in the Christian tradition, did not involve bowing. Tae Seo placed a white chrysanthemum in front of Chairman Jeong Un Pil’s portrait—a man he had never met face-to-face—and closed his eyes in respectful silence.
When he turned to face the family members lined up after the silent tribute, Tae Seo spotted Jung Jae Hoon, wearing a mourning band, glaring at him fiercely from behind his mother and two sisters.
Chairman Jeong Un Pil’s sole daughter-in-law, and Jae Hoon’s biological mother, stood with her children, dabbing at teary eyes.
“I express my deepest condolences.”

“Thank you for coming.”
Chairman Jeong’s two daughters stepped forward to acknowledge Tae Seo with a nod.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
