After ending the call with Su Cheol, Da Hyun agonized over whether she should tell Min Hyuk about the conversation.

Although Su Cheol’s offer to let her see Yeon Sil had shaken her resolve, her hesitation to immediately tell Min Hyuk stemmed from a different reason altogether.

It was because of the lingering afterimage—the visions from the past—that she couldn’t speak up.

She had intended to ask Min Hyuk once he woke up, but in the end, she never managed to bring it up.

Da Hyun popped a lemon-flavored candy into her mouth, lost in thought, then finally got up.

No matter how desperately she wanted to see Yeon Sil, she couldn’t betray her husband right now.

“I should probably tell him. I feel sorry toward Mom, but I can’t lie to my family.”

Even if she agreed to listen to Su Cheol, the chances he’d actually let her see Yeon Sil were slim.

Just thinking of Yeon Sil made her heart ache. Though the memories had grown faint, she still missed her dearly and longed to see her.

“What are you standing there thinking about?”

At that moment, Min Hyuk opened the bedroom door and walked in, eyeing Da Hyun curiously as she stood silently in place.

Da Hyun stared at Min Hyuk, who stood gripping the doorknob, her lips sealed shut.

“Mr. Min Hyuk, actually… there’s something I want to ask you. But I just haven’t been able to bring it up yet…”

She had so many questions and so much she wanted to say—yet for some reason, the words simply wouldn’t come out.

This wasn’t like her at all. She could’ve just casually asked, but she wondered what made her so afraid to speak.
