His lips curled into a smirk as he put the clean knife back down.
“You said you have a woman. A very precious woman.”
“……”
“Where did you leave that woman while marrying Han Da Hyun? That too, two years later.”
Min Hyuk didn’t need to know any further the moment the word ‘woman’ left Kim Chan’s mouth.
In the end, she lost her memory without clearing up the misunderstanding with Da Hyun.
He didn’t intend to reveal the truth that she was unaware of to this brat first.
Min Hyuk leaned back slightly, letting out a short snicker before looking back at Chan with lifeless eyes.
“Fascinating.”
The room was filled with an icy coldness, devoid of any warmth.
Suddenly, the door opened and both of them closed their mouths as if they had made a pact.
The icy air filling the room startled Da Hyun and Yul as they entered.
“What’s going on? Why’s the vibe so weird? Hey, Kim Chan, you were being rude again, weren’t you?”
Yul naturally suspected Chan to be the cause, turning her head swiftly to glare at him.
“I’m sorry, he’s goodhearted inside, but he gets misunderstood a lot because of his outer appearance.”
Without even asking what happened, Yul cleared her throat and bowed apologetically to Min Hyuk.
“What are you talking about?”
Chan was dumbfounded by Yul’s action, sticking out his tongue as he got up from his seat.
“Let’s leave. Mom called. If we don’t show up even late, she said she’d pluck out every hair on your head.”
“Hey, why would you say that here, out loud?”
“Then where should I say it?”
As Yul became flustered, Chan laughed awkwardly.
“Haha, I guess we should get going. We haven’t seen our parents since we came back to the country, and they’ve contacted us.”
“Well, there’s nothing we can do about it. It’s a shame. We’ll invite you to our house next time.”
“Oh, that sounds great. I thought Da Hyun was so unlucky with men, except for meeting me. I’m relieved that’s not the case. Please take care of our Da Hyun.”
Yul did not spare the praise, saying Min Hyuk was a perfect 100 out of 100 as a husband. She stressed that Min Hyuk was perfect in every way, expressing relief that Da Hyun had found someone good.
Min Hyuk smiled a monotonous smile, his gaze moving from Yul to Chan.
“I’ve been admiring her every day anyway.”
If a mere creature didn’t know its place and tried to fly too high, it could easily be crushed.
The past is just the past. He wanted to show Kim Chan exactly how happy he and she were living now.
The person by her side right now isn’t you, it’s me.
So don’t dare to look down on me.
“Mi, Mr. Min Hyuk!”
“Oh my.”
Da Hyun opened her mouth and hurried towards Min Hyuk.

Is it really going to be this embarrassing?
Da Hyun, who was flustered, glanced at Min Hyuk, who wasn’t unpleasant to her. He shrugged his shoulders as if to ask the beautiful woman approaching him what the problem was.
“Then you two should have a good time. Da Hyun, I’ll contact you.”
Yul quickly decided it would be better to leave, putting her bag on her shoulder and grabbing Chan’s wrist.
“Okay. Bye. Chan, you take care too.”
Da Hyun quickly turned around and waved her hand.
“……Yeah.”
“Yul, I’ll contact you when I get home.”
“Okay.”
Chan and Yul alternately responded.
“Okay. Contact me. It’s okay to contact me the next day.”
Yul was chuckling by herself, grinning mischievously as she spoke.
As she affectionately called Chan’s name, Min Hyuk’s eyebrows rose and his forehead crinkled.
“Hey, Han Da Hyun.”
“Huh?”
Keeping a close eye on Min Hyuk, Chan rolled his lips into a smirk, seeming amused.
“See you again.”
“Huh? Uh. Sure.”
Da Hyun blinked in confusion for a moment before her startled realization made her nod her head.
At Yul’s urging, Chan casually waved his hand and exited the room.
As Chan provoked Min Hyuk one last time before leaving, Min Hyuk’s eyes flared up. But as soon as Da Hyun turned her head, he quickly composed his expression.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.
Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.
In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.
