If she had known this, she would have gotten along with Dahyun before.
She regretted turning Dahyun into an enemy out of jealousy for the first time.
It was foolish not to think about the future and act at that time.
“I’ll arrange a meeting with the chairman for you.”
“What? If it’s the chairman…?”
“Yes, the person you’re thinking of, Ms. Kim Yoon-hee.”
At that moment, Kim Yoon-hee wondered who the chairman Dahyun was talking about. She suddenly wondered why Dahyun referred to her father with such a formal title. Seeing how Soocheol treated her, it was more like a father figure than an actual father.
Well, it didn’t matter how Dahyun called Soocheol. What was important was that if she granted Dahyun’s request, Dahyun would fulfill her request.
“Record everything that the chairman told Ms. Kim Yoon-hee to do and everything he did to me, and give it to me.”
“…Hm, are you completely turning your back on the chairman?”

“There’s nothing else to do, whether I turn my back or not.”
Dahyun sighed in disappointment and burst into a cynical laugh. The expression ‘turning one’s back’ felt awkward, especially since he wasn’t her real father from the start.
Kim Yoon-hee wondered if this was due to the article. However, the atmosphere between her and Dahyun seemed different from what she knew.
It seemed as if Dahyun’s eyes were blinded by revenge, tearing herself apart for it, and preparing to sell her soul to the devil.
What on earth happened with Soocheol?
Kim Yoon-hee thought there must be something more than just Soocheol kidnapping Yeonsil.
“…It’s not a difficult task. But it’s not someone who’s completely unaware. If I suddenly appear and ask, it might seem suspicious.”
The biggest problem was that she had sided with Minhyuk, and suddenly approaching Soocheol would be viewed as strange.
Dahyun was bothered by that too, but it was something Kim Yoon-hee had to handle on her own.
Right now, her head felt like it was about to explode because of Soocheol, and she didn’t want to discuss how to approach him with Kim Yoon-hee.
“Maybe Ms. Kim Yoon-hee should handle that on her own. I need a confession from the chairman. If I get the confession, I’ll help with the child’s treatment as you wish.”

At the mention of helping with the child’s treatment, Kim Yoon-hee’s lips curled up.
“Really? Did my brother already say something?”
“What do you mean?”
“Last time, my brother said he would help if you told the truth. But he said it’s only possible if Dahyun agrees…”
Oh no, did I say too much?
Kim Yoon-hee was concerned that Dahyun might misunderstand her and Minhyuk again.
Even though it wasn’t her intention, speaking without knowing the details made it look strange.
“What exactly did the chairman say he would do for Ms. Kim Yoon-hee?”
Unexpectedly, Dahyun asked about the content proposed by the chairman, not Minhyuk.
Seeing Dahyun’s title for Soocheol completely changed, Kim Yoon-hee realized that Dahyun and Soocheol were completely estranged.

With a more relaxed expression, Kim Yoon-hee explained the exact conditions that Soocheol had offered.
“In the past, he promised money if we broke up, and this time, he said he would support the cost of the child’s treatment and all subsequent hospital expenses if we get divorced.”
It must have been a difficult condition to refuse from Kim Yoon-hee’s position. Moreover, who wouldn’t be grateful for parents who would do anything to help their child recover?
Dahyun understood why Kim Yoon-hee suddenly approached her. When leaving Soocheol’s house, Dahyun didn’t ask because she didn’t want to know the details.
With the medical expenses exceeding 1 billion won, Kim Yoon-hee alone couldn’t afford the hospital bills until her child recovered.
“I’ll take care of it for you.”
When Dahyun offered her support, Yoon-hee’s eyes narrowed. Yes, she currently held nothing in her hands except for being the daughter of Yusong. However, that was no longer the case.
“I plan to take the shares and dissolve Yusong.”
Dahyun recalled one of the clauses in the contract drafted by Yeonsil and Soocheol. Initially, the idea was to take Yusong, Soocheol’s most beloved, away from him.
She intended to snatch away what was most precious to Soocheol, just as he had taken Yeonsil from her.
“To do that, Kim Yoon-hee’s role is the most important.”

Yoon-hee remained silent, caught in Dahyun’s venomous gaze.
“Can you do it?”
This wasn’t just impulsively spoken out of anger; it was genuine. She truly wished for her father to crumble.
Dahyun understood that approaching Soocheol, whose guard was now sky-high no matter the method, would be difficult. She gave Kim Yoon-hee time to think.
“I know what decision Kim Yoon-hee will make. However, I want to hear it directly. I want to know how confident Kim Yoon-hee is.”
In her determined voice, Dahyun gave Yoon-hee time to think. Understood the difficult circumstances, Yoon-hee leaned back, resting against the backrest, then decisively extended her hand to Dahyun.
“This is an offer I can’t refuse, and we have to find a way. For my daughter, I won’t hesitate to do anything.”
She shook hands with Dahyun. Who would have known, just two days ago, she didn’t even dream of holding hands with Kim Yoon-hee.
“I’ll ask as soon as possible. I hope we can get the confession within three days.”
“Don’t worry. Since a good idea has come up.”

Now Dahyun could finally smile a bit more comfortably. To achieve what both of them wanted, they became allies.
Dahyun took the first step towards bringing down Soocheol.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
