The group chat Jiyeon entered was filled with discussions about Su Cheol and her.
At first, some thought it was a false article and tried to defend Jiyeon, but as numerous articles poured in, even those supporting Jiyeon turned away.
Even though Jiyeon was clearly in the group chat, those who entered the chat openly criticized Jiyeon’s family.
If this is true, isn’t Yousung in chaos?
What era are we in that you think this wouldn’t be exposed?
If Han Jiyeon sees this, she’ll be terrified, right?
They weren’t true friends for each other, but they were people who approached her as if they were close, smiling and trying to please her, even though they weren’t true friends.
However, they severed ties just because a gossip broke out.
When gossip arose, they were too busy dealing with their own affairs to be questioned.
“These people.”

Those who insulted our house will surely be exposed for their corruption. They’ll pay for the light teasing they did.
Jiyeon gritted her teeth. How did the article turn out like this? Did Han Dahyun leak it right after leaving our house?
That wicked girl.
Without knowing anything in the group chat, Jiyeon said a word, asking them not to spout nonsense, and then left the room.
She meticulously searched through the articles claiming that Su Cheol had imprisoned Yeonsil, reading through the contents.
The articles weren’t entirely accurate, but there wasn’t a single false statement. Jiyeon was sure that Dahyun had informed the reporter and exposed Su Cheol.
“Dad!”
Jiyeon called out to Su Cheol with quick steps, heading to the study. Since Dahyun wasn’t visible, it was certain that she had left the house.
“Miss, you shouldn’t go in right now.”
Coincidentally, the housekeeper was pacing outside the study, and when Jiyeon arrived, he blocked her way.

“Who’s blocking my way now! Hurry and move aside!”
Looking at the housekeeper who was much older than her, Jiyeon stared as if he was insignificant. Jiyeon shoved the housekeeper’s shoulder aside and, without knocking, opened the door to the study.
“Dad! Did you see the article?!”
As she opened the door, Jiyeon urgently asked Su Cheol if he had confirmed the current situation from the articles.
But Su Cheol was already on the phone with someone, showing signs of irritation as he scratched his head with his hand.
Jiyeon’s body stiffened as soon as her eyes met Su Cheol’s.
With a gaze that seemed to say, “Why did you come in?” Su Cheol gestured for her to leave.
Already having checked the articles, Su Cheol was looking for the original informant.
“Ask who reported this article. I’ve never seen such a ridiculous article in my life. Why is Park doing this to us? We’ve been enduring for ten years. Can’t he provide even this bit of information?”
Jiyeon stood still, watching Su Cheol getting worked up. She felt wounded in her pride as Su Cheol, rather than a secretary, was personally searching for the informant.

If Su Cheol intervened directly, it meant acknowledging the truth of the article.
The only person who knew where Yeonsil was, was Su Cheol.
Does Su Cheol not consider her as Han Dahyun? Then why is he causing trouble by taking someone who can’t even open their eyes?
Jiyeon disliked the fact that Su Cheol brought Yeonsil even though he had Youngsook and herself.
Jiyeon’s clenched hands were trembling.
I won’t let that girl go easily.
Su Cheol, perhaps not getting the answer he wanted, hung up with a more vicious expression.
Then, instead of asking Jiyeon if she came, he threw the mobile phone to the floor.
The mobile phone made a thudding sound as it hit the floor, producing a clattering noise along with a friction sound.
“Who the hell is this!”
Su Cheol’s shoulders shook violently. Unable to contain his anger, Su Cheol, with slippers on, stomped on the fallen mobile phone over and over.

Jiyeon watched Su Cheol’s violent actions in silence. Contemplating whether to leave the study as it is, she decided to speak up to inform him that Dahyun was the informant.
“Dad, it’s obviously Dahyun. Who else could it be? Is she completely out of her mind? No matter how much you hate her, this is too much. How could she do this to Dad?!”
“She’s not capable of that kind of cleverness. If she could, she would have done it a long time ago. Get out. Don’t bother me.”
Su Cheol, hearing Jiyeon’s words, stopped shaking his foot and, listening to Jiyeon, sneered. Naturally, upon hearing the news that the article had been exposed, he suspected Han Dahyun and Kang Minhyuk.
However, even if the misunderstanding between the two was resolved and they reconciled, they couldn’t hastily expose the article.
Dahyun was always afraid that she might do something harmful to Yeonsil. That’s why, for over ten years, she didn’t rebel against me and dutifully played the role of a good daughter.
But suddenly abandoning Yeonsil? Dahyun knew that it was absolutely impossible.
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
