After she left, he finally called her name. But only silent stillness followed.
“My memory has returned.”
It wasn’t a dream. It wasn’t an illusion that appeared due to his worries.
Even if he tried not to accept reality, Dahyun’s anger was so vivid that Minhyuk had no choice but to accept the cruel reality.
She had left. Afraid that she might leave knowing all the facts, he couldn’t say it and reluctantly faced ruin.
He hoped she would live without thinking about anything. He thought it would be fine even if she, who couldn’t remember, stayed with him because it looked so happy.
Even if her memory returned, he thought she wouldn’t leave. Arrogance got the better of him.
He believed that if he made an effort and sincerely treated her, she would understand even if she found out all the facts.
But it wasn’t so. Minhyuk expected Dahyun’s memory to return when she opened her eyes again after fainting.
Because of his selfishness, he lost her once again.
Minhyuk knew without deeply pondering where Dahyun had gone.

Kim Yul.
With a splitting headache, Minhyuk lifted his footsteps with determination despite the stiff muscles in his legs.
He felt deeply sorry for her. However, there was no intention to divorce her, especially with her carrying his child.
He would somehow make her come back, explain everything, and make her understand.
“I have no intention of breaking up with you.”
Rather than living in a world without her, it was better to face ruin.
Yul, who had promised to return in the evening, came home early and glanced at Dahyun sitting on the sofa before shifting his gaze to the carrier.
“What does it mean to stay at someone else’s place for a while? Did you intentionally leave the house? What’s in that carrier?”
“Baby items you gave me as a gift and a few of my clothes.”
Dahyun, who had been sitting alone in the landlord-less house feeling awkward, turned red when Yul came back and frowned at the carrier.

However, Dahyun quickly put on a crying face and let out a deep sigh.
Seeing Dahyun crying, Yul, who was internally grappling with a gloomy and troubled mind, tried to express those feelings outwardly.
“Well, what’s going on? What happened between Kang Minhyuk that made you leave like this?”
When Dahyun’s eyes turned red in an instant and tears welled up, a bewildered Yul couldn’t handle it. Yul sat next to Dahyun and firmly held her hand.
While doing so, he playfully opened his mouth in a teasing tone to prevent her from sobbing.
“Don’t cry. Does the baby cry if you’re sad? You know everything sad gets transmitted to the baby, right?”
Dahyun nodded silently.
Yes. So she tried not to cry continuously. She didn’t cry when she saw Minhyuk, and even when she told him that her memory had returned, she didn’t reveal her sadness.
Seeing Dahyun struggling not to sob, Yul looked at her with sympathy, rolling up his lips to suppress it.
“If you don’t want to talk, don’t. Stay at our house for a while. Tell that brat Kim Chan that you’ll be staying at our house for a few days, so he won’t come in.”

Although curious about what happened between the couple, Yul didn’t want to pry and ask Dahyun.
Yul wanted to give her a break mentally, especially since she seemed emotionally unstable. Moreover, she was pregnant and needed more stability.
“Did you tell Kang Minhyuk that you’ll be staying at our house?”
Dahyun shook her head anxiously. With tears streaming down and her eye corners sagging, she looked like an abandoned puppy.
“No. I didn’t say anything. I just left with the carrier in front of Minhyuk.”
“And Kang Minhyuk let you go without stopping you?”
“Yeah.”
“Wow.”
Yul made an unbelieving expression but quickly adjusted his expression.
Minhyuk looked at Dahyun with eyes that were undoubtedly affectionate. Yul could tell from Minhyuk’s gaze last time that he genuinely cherished Dahyun. The fact that Minhyuk let Dahyun leave without stopping her was a shock to Yul.

Minhyuk treated Dahyun noticeably preciously. Even if others saw him, Minhyuk’s affectionate gaze towards Dahyun was unmistakably real.
And, above all, isn’t the fruition of their love, life, inside her womb?
Yul swallowed his saliva, thinking that even if they fought, it seemed like a grand battle.
Minhyuk seemed like the type to apologize first, even if he wasn’t wrong, especially for Dahyun’s sake.
Although he prided himself on having a good eye for people, it seemed like he had misjudged someone.
Knowing how Dahyun had been living, Yul hoped she would meet someone who could be a reliable support to her.
He thought Minhyuk was the perfect match for her, and he was genuinely pleased that the two of them seemed destined.
“I misjudged people.”
Sighing, Yul tightly grabbed Dahyun’s hand and pulled her up. Dahyun, pulled by the strength of Yul’s grip, stood up.
“Don’t just sit on the sofa. Let’s go to my room. Have you eaten something? Is it still difficult for you to eat due to morning sickness?”
“I’ve gotten a bit better. But I don’t have much of an appetite, so I’ve been taking nutritional supplements.”

To prevent Dahyun from dwelling on gloomy thoughts, Yul shifted the topic. With one hand holding Dahyun’s hand and the other pulling the handle of the full carrier she brought.
“During early pregnancy, you’re supposed to eat well. I looked up everything since I said I was pregnant. Foods to avoid and foods to eat. Precautions, and so on. But I don’t know why there are so many things pregnant women shouldn’t do.”
Dahyun stared at Yul’s profile, who had quickly become a chatterbox, and chuckled.
She understood that Yul deliberately changed the subject to prevent her from continuing to think about depressing thoughts.
Once her heart settled a bit, she planned to tell Yul about what had happened.
She was truly grateful for Yul, who accepted her without asking anything. While with Yul, Dahyun would try her best not to think about Minhyuk.
However, spending four days with Yul made her realize that her efforts were in vain. When Yul was gone, and she was alone at home, her efforts became powerless.
When Yul was there, she somehow managed not to think about Minhyuk. However, once Yul left, she worried about whether he safely went to work and was concerned about whether he had a meal.
What could he be doing right now? Was he blaming himself and feeling regret alone in that big house? Or was he regretting it?
Dahyun resented and disliked him, but it was challenging to completely shake off the affection. Even if she tried to push it away, it wasn’t easy.

“Once again, I’ve become tainted by Minhyuk.”
Unable to deny it, she felt dejected and bitter. The emotion of love wasn’t easily extinguished.
She couldn’t stay at Yul’s house like this forever. The baby would continue to grow, and her belly would swell. She needed to find a way to live with the baby alone.
After four days, Dahyun turned on her long-shut-off phone.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
