“Da Hyun.”
“I knew you would come.”
I suspected Min Hyuk had sent someone after me. And as expected, he had come home.
I thought about leaving without saying a word, but out of my last consideration for the father of the baby in my belly, I waited for him to come.
I was going to let him know that I had regained my memory and definitely break up, I didn’t want to ask questions or hear excuses.
His anxious face caught my eye.
His pupils trembled like causing an earthquake. I didn’t miss the trembling of his hand that clenched into a fist.
Min Hyuk suspected that Da Hyun was trying to leave.
She knew. That he had been deceiving her.
“Mr. Min Hyuk.”
At the cold tone, Min Hyuk remained silent. The gaze of her, who used to smile at me, was endlessly cold.
Min Hyuk hesitated to say anything for fear of confusing her with a slip of the tongue.
He had to know how she found out the truth first. When he didn’t open his mouth, Da Hyun bit her lip and rose from her sitting position.

Min Hyuk just watched Da Hyun approach like a fool.
As she approached, the sharpness of her eyes filled with hatred and betrayal scratched him like sharp nails.
She, lifting her chin high, gave a bitter smile and looked at him with cruel eyes.
If you won’t say anything until the end, I have to talk.
I had hoped to end it with a relationship where we could at least say goodbye to each other without pain.
But even that seemed difficult now.
“I got my memory back.”
She was going to cleanly cut off the heart she couldn’t cut off before.
Everything was a lie and a devised plot. She was nothing more than a plaything on that board.
With bitterness in her mouth, Da Hyun bit her lower lip.
Our relationship was a distorted and twisted one.

Da Hyun took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
A room of about 5 pyeong, with modern white wainscoting, luxurious chandelier lighting, and a marble dining table, was a representative private room of this City Door Restaurant.
Not here for a meal, but on behalf of her younger sister Ji Yeon, Da Hyun’s face was stiff.
“I’m twentytwo now. But marriage? If it’s about marriage, shouldn’t you, my elder sister, do it first? So, you go instead of me.”
“If dad finds out, he won’t let it go.”
“Especially it’s the HG group you stood against before? I hate that more. Did you think I wouldn’t know because I was studying abroad? I don’t know what dad is thinking.”
“Ji Yeon.”
“But at least you were the eldest son. I was the illegitimate child! Why does a flawless person like me have to deal with an illegitimate child?”
Rumors ran rampant that Kang Min Hyuk, the illegitimate child of HG Group, had a face so vile and brutish it was akin to a beast’s. Ji Yeon shivered at the thought of marrying a man with such a look.
“So, you go and refuse on my behalf.”
“Ji Yeon, if father finds out……”
“I’m not telling you to go and marry in my stead, is that so difficult? Even if he finds out, I’ll explain it well to dad.”
Ji Yeon, who usually ignored everyone, was surprisingly friendly this time around.
Ji Yeon was the child of Young Suk, her stepmother, and her father Soo Cheol, making her Da Hyun’s halfsibling.
Da Hyun’s mother, Yeon Woo, fell into a coma after an accident when Da Hyun was young. In such a situation, Soo Cheol brought a new woman, Young Suk, into the house. As Young Suk became pregnant with Ji Yeon, Soo Cheol falsified evidence to portray the comatose Yeon Woo as an unfaithful woman, and proceeded with the divorce proceedings. As soon as the divorce was finalized, Soo Cheol remarried Young Suk.
“If you don’t do what I ask, I’ll tell dad that you’ve been looking for a house recently. You know full well how much dad hates the idea of independence.”
Soo Cheol despised the thought of either Da Hyun or Ji Yeon becoming independent. He believed that until they were married, they shouldn’t be independent, and this was especially true for Da Hyun.
After Ji Yeon discovered Da Hyun’s house hunting, Ji Yeon threatened Da Hyun with this information whenever necessary.

Eventually, under Ji Yeon’s threats, Da Hyun ended up sitting in the seat where Ji Yeon should have been.
Da Hyun hated her home and wanted to escape. She wanted to escape Soo Cheol’s clutches and live freely.
And more than anything, she wanted to find Yeon Woo. Soo Cheol wouldn’t reveal the location of Yeon Woo’s hospital room. Despite her efforts to find it, Soo Cheol had somehow managed to make it impossible to find the hospital where Yeon Woo was admitted.
Da Hyun remembered the details of the man that Ji Yeon was supposed to meet.
Kang Min Hyuk, the illegitimate son of HG Group. He was thirtyone years old. Since his childhood, he had been living abroad, so very few people knew his face. He never showed his face in the media or at official events, sparking people’s curiosity.
That was all the information Da Hyun had managed to gather in a short time.
She stood straight to avoid looking flustered no matter when he arrived.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
