A Relentless Senior (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
After the “Love and Marriage” class ended, Sa Rang left the lecture hall with Do Han.
As they descended the stairs and stepped outside the building, she spoke.
“How about going on a date to a billiards hall for this month’s assignment?”
It wasn’t a common dating spot, which made it good material for a report.
Besides, she assumed Do Han would appreciate it since it was a place he often visited.
Although he’d rejected her confession, she still liked him and wanted to see him happy.
That was also why she’d asked Yoon Jae to teach her how to play billiards.
But for some reason, Do Han’s expression looked gloomy.
“Who goes on a date at a billiards hall?”
“Huh?”
Sa Rang was taken aback.
She’d planned to practice a few more times before doing the assignment so she could impress him, but now she wouldn’t even get the chance.
“Guys don’t really like taking their girlfriends to billiards halls. They usually say it’s boring and want to leave right away.”
For a moment, Sa Rang felt envious of his past girlfriends—whose faces she’d never seen.
They must have held a piece of this man’s heart at least once,
while she, who’d gone out of her way to learn a game she didn’t even know how to play just to impress him, felt pitiful in comparison.
Just the thought of them being led by his hand into a billiards hall made her feel small.
Why couldn’t she just let go?
She’d sworn to herself countless times not to like him, yet every time she saw him, she got pulled right back in.
After hearing him say outright, “You’re not the one for me,” what was she even hoping for?
“But there are girls who enjoy billiards too. I tried it and actually found it fun.”
She wanted to go, if only because she didn’t want her efforts to learn it to go to waste.
Maybe she also wanted to prove to him that unlike his exes, she genuinely liked it.
Of course, he wouldn’t care—but a pointless stubbornness welled up inside her anyway.
At that moment, Do Han frowned and stopped walking.
Sa Rang, walking beside him, halted too.
“Were you just having fun with something else?”
“What?”
“I saw you at the billiards hall. Anyone watching would’ve thought you two were on a date.”
That day, he’d kept stealing glances at them and couldn’t focus on his game at all.
He’d been irritated by Yoon Jae’s enthusiastic teaching—how he even held Sa Rang’s hand.
And he disliked how she’d obediently let him hold it.
When he saw Sa Rang happily hugging Yoon Jae, he’d nearly thrown his cue stick in frustration.
He wasn’t even her boyfriend, yet jealousy burned fiercely in his chest.
“It wasn’t a date—I just asked Yoon Jae to teach me billiards.”
Sa Rang felt hurt. He obviously knew it wasn’t a date, so why did he say it like that?
“Tae Hoon said the same thing—thought you two were dating.”
“We’re not.”
“Maybe not on your end, but he probably is.”
“What do you mean?”
“Your friend likely has feelings for you.”
Sa Rang’s throat tightened instantly.
When she’d confessed her feelings, he’d told her to like someone else—someone like Jung Yoon Jae.
Said they’d be a good match.
And now he was suggesting Yoon Jae might like her.
Did he really dislike her that much?
Was she such a burden that he wanted to push her onto Yoon Jae at all costs?
He’d acted the same way when Tae Hoon offered to set her up on a blind date.
Did he just want her to date someone—anyone—quickly so he wouldn’t feel uncomfortable anymore?
Sa Rang swallowed back her tears and shook her head as if nothing mattered.

“Yoon Jae and I are just friends. I’m sure he thinks so too.”
“I don’t know if you really don’t get it, or if you’re just pretending not to.”
Do Han let out a long, frustrated sigh.
Even if she’d never been in a relationship, how could she not notice when someone was being so obvious?
Even the clueless Tae Hoon had seen it right away.
Just observing Yoon Jae’s gaze on Sa Rang at the billiards hall had been enough.
It was clear he liked her.
It was clear he cherished her deeply.
Seeing Yoon Jae’s pure, clear eyes filled with her image made Do Han’s heart ache as if it were being sliced open.
He felt fundamentally different from them—like they belonged to a world he could never reach.
Their bright, effortless closeness irritated him.
He resented Sa Rang for carelessly declaring her love and tearing up his heart, even though they clearly didn’t belong together.
And so, he kept lashing out bitterly.
“Don’t waste your time on blind dates. You’ll end up with someone else anyway.”
Do Han spat out cruel words he immediately wished he could take back.
Did he really need confirmation that there was nothing between them?
Or did he just want to hear—even once—that someone liked him?
What a pathetic, cowardly bastard.
Even in his own eyes, he was insufferable, and he cursed himself inwardly.
If he didn’t want to go to the billiards hall together, fine—but did he really have to say it like that?
He expected her to get angry. Given her honest nature, she’d probably huff, turn around, and scold him.
Then maybe she’d start to dislike him.
Would she regret ever liking someone like him?
Would she slowly let go of her feelings and drift away from him?
Do Han silently watched Sa Rang, whose eyes had dropped to the floor.
“Will I?”
She slowly lifted her head.
She offered a faint smile, but her eyes shimmered with unshed tears.
For a moment, Do Han felt his heart plummet straight to the ground.
It was a chilling sensation—he never wanted to feel it again.
“Should I… go out with Yoon Jae?”
She smiled a little more.
Her eyes sparkled, perhaps from the tears that had briefly welled up.
“I’ll think about it. I’m not even sure if Yoon Jae really likes me.”
Do Han’s heart seemed determined not to return to its place,
judging by how he just stood there, speechless and frozen.
“I’ll look into the assignment more before deciding. We still have time. I’ll head off first.”
Sa Rang had another class in the engineering building, so she left him behind.
She didn’t get angry, didn’t cry, didn’t show resentment—just smiled prettily as usual.
Do Han nearly collapsed right where he stood.
His heart rolled helplessly across the rough concrete floor.
Her invisible wounds and silent tears hurt him deeply.
After having lunch with Ji Woo at the student union, Sa Rang ran home.
She’d just realized she’d forgotten the assignment she needed to submit in her next class.
Her house was far—if she didn’t hurry, she’d be late.
Thinking she should move into a studio near campus next year as a sophomore, she ran until sweat broke out.
As soon as she got home, she grabbed the assignment and ran again without even catching her breath.
She barely made it to the lecture hall on time—only to find it completely empty.
Only then did she remember the professor had announced a cancellation last class.
Sa Rang’s legs gave out, and she sank into a chair.

Lately, it felt like she’d been spacing out, constantly forgetting things.
She guessed it started after she’d told Do Han she’d consider going out with Yoon Jae.
She hadn’t meant it seriously.
She’d said it impulsively out of frustration—resentful that he seemed eager to pass her off to someone else.
At that moment, she’d resolved to erase Ji Do Han from her mind.
She’d promised herself not to hold onto someone who clearly didn’t want her.
Yet, why was he still lingering in her thoughts while everything else slipped away?
Sa Rang stared at the empty classroom and let out a hollow sigh.
“What should I do now?”
If this had been her last class of the day, she’d go home—but she still had one more.
She felt she needed a drink first, so she wearily stood up.
She was parched after running nonstop without rest.
Walking down the hallway to the corner, she spotted a vending machine.
She bought a cold drink and sat on a bench.
As she took a long sip to quench her thirst, she heard two voices from the hallway she’d just passed through.
A man and a woman.
They stopped there and started talking.
Sa Rang froze mid-sip.
She’d been thinking the man’s voice sounded familiar—and then she heard the woman say his name.
“Do Han, let’s date.”
Shocked by the woman’s confession, Sa Rang unconsciously gripped her drink can tightly with both hands.
Afraid of making any sound, she didn’t dare move.
“You don’t have a girlfriend right now, do you?”
The woman was quite bold.
Sa Rang didn’t have the courage to hear Do Han’s response. She tried to quietly stand up and leave through the opposite staircase.
But her legs wouldn’t budge.
Even as fear gripped her, she still wanted to listen.
Anxiously, she waited for his voice.
“I’m not thinking about dating anyone right now.”
Hearing Do Han’s firm rejection brought Sa Rang both relief and a hollow ache in her chest.
She felt as if she’d been rejected alongside the other woman.
“Then when will you consider it? I’ll ask you again then.”
The woman didn’t seem hurt at all.
She even sounded like she was smiling.
Hearing the woman’s reaction, Sa Rang finally understood what Do Han had once told her:
“First boyfriend, first love, first kiss—it’s overwhelming when your partner is a total beginner.”
As a freshman whose head was so full of Do Han she’d even forgotten the class was canceled, she clearly wasn’t qualified to be his girlfriend.
Only someone as carefree as this woman would have even a sliver of a chance.
“I don’t know.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? You talk like you’re cursed or something.”
“If I’m so cursed, why ask me out?”
“Because guys like that are attractive.”
When Sa Rang sensed Do Han chuckle softly, her heart turned to ice.
She envied the woman who could make him laugh in this moment.
“Aren’t you ever hurt? Doesn’t it bother you?”
“Not over something like this. Wait—did that girl you rejected get upset? Did she curse at you or something?”
Do Han sighed quietly, thinking of Sa Rang.
The image of her holding back tears and forcing a smile in front of him days ago wouldn’t leave his mind, tormenting him constantly.
“I absolutely hate girls who make others uncomfortable by openly showing they’ve been rejected—like they have no self-respect.”
The woman’s words made Sa Rang’s face burn.

It felt like she was talking about her specifically.
She was deeply ashamed of having shown only that side of herself to Do Han all this time.
After that, the two exchanged a few more words, but their voices blended with passersby and became unintelligible.
When the hallway fell quiet, she assumed they’d left.
“What are you doing here?”
Hearing Do Han’s voice right in front of her, Sa Rang looked up in surprise.
The woman was gone—he was alone.
That was a small relief.
If he’d been with her, Sa Rang would’ve felt even more pathetic.
“It’s canceled today.”
“You forgot?”
“I heard but forgot.”
“Are you planning to stay here?”
“No, I’ll go now.”
“Where to?”
Sa Rang couldn’t answer.
Her mind wasn’t clear enough to decide where to go.
She just stood up and met Do Han’s eyes.
“I’ll go.”
“Where are you going?”
“I don’t know either.”
Sa Rang walked past him and turned the corner.
Do Han was embarrassed, suspecting she’d overheard the whole conversation.
He couldn’t stop her to ask, nor could he explain.
Frustrated by his helplessness, he scowled—when suddenly, Sa Rang came back.
He watched, surprised, as she turned toward him with what looked like anger in her eyes.
“Please pass a message to that woman.”
“What?”
“Tell her it’s not that I have no self-respect and show I’ve been rejected openly. It’s just that I like the guy who rejected me so much that every time I see him, I can’t help but reveal how I feel. Tell her that when you truly like someone, your emotions don’t obey your will.”
Sa Rang turned away, finally releasing the feelings she’d tightly held inside.
Do Han, on the other hand, felt his heart tremble—as if those words were meant for him.
It was practically another confession that she still liked him.
His heart understood before his mind did—and began racing wildly.
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
