Knock, knock.

Hye Ri, who was studying for her exams at her desk, paused at the sound of knocking.

Kyung Chul had said he would be home late, so the only person who would come to her room had to be Do Han.

She could guess why he had come to her room.

How did she get Sa Rang’s phone number?

To tell her never to contact again.

Hye Ri stood up from her chair, anticipating an angry Do Han.

She slowly walked and opened the door.

True to his unemotional nature, Do Han looked calm on the surface.

“Are you just getting in?”

Ignoring her question, Do Han walked past her into the room.

Hye Ri chuckled.

Despite his expressionless face, Do Han’s eyes were fierce.

As he glanced at the desk, Hye Ri approached and faced him.

“Despite cancer and everything, I find myself studying for the finals since they’re right around the corner.”

She wasn’t due for surgery immediately, and she wasn’t in pain, so Hye Ri maintained her routine as usual.

The upcoming exams were somewhat comforting.

Without them, she would have been alone in her room, wallowing in depression.

She didn’t want to just wait for the surgery date.

“Do you have something to say to me?”

At Hye Ri’s nonchalant question, Do Han looked down at her and then spoke.

“Delete the number.”

The intensity of his demand caught Hye Ri off guard, and she chuckled.

“I thought you’d ask how I got it. Not curious about that?”

“Delete it now. Right in front of me.”

His eyes warned her that he would smash her phone if she didn’t comply.

But Hye Ri shrugged, seemingly unafraid.

“Why should I? I’m just starting to get along with your girlfriend.”

“There’s no need for that, so delete it.”

“What does that mean?”

No need to get along?

Hye Ri asked directly, suspecting her guess was right.

“Are you breaking up?”

She had said she would make it happen, but she didn’t think Do Han would actually break up with Sa Rang.

Especially not so soon.

They had just been together a while ago.

“Yes. So delete the number.”

When he insisted on deleting Sa Rang’s number, Hye Ri let out a breath.

Was he that afraid of being caught?

Afraid of her telling Sa Rang about that day?

Do Han’s overreaction twisted Hye Ri’s mind even more.

She regretted not telling Sa Rang everything.

But since things turned out as she wanted, Hye Ri decided to comply with his request.

She took her phone from the desk.

Opened the contacts, found Sa Rang’s name, and pressed delete.

Soon, one phone number was gone.

“I deleted it. Now it’s your turn. Don’t drag it out, break up with her.”

Hye Ri tossed her phone onto the desk irritably.

It was odd to be annoyed when things were going as she wanted.

As she turned to tell him to leave, Do Han spoke.

“There’s one more condition.”

“What?”

Hye Ri frowned.

Who was he to set conditions now?

In her incredulous state, he said,

“Drop out of school.”

“What did you say?”

“If you need a college diploma, get surgery and then enter another school.”
“What are you saying, Oppa?”

Hye Ri couldn’t comprehend his words.

Was Do Han trying to take revenge by making her drop out, just as he had dropped out because of her?

But his next words were different from her speculation.

“If you really have to attend that school, then re-enroll after four years.”

“Oppa.”

“Ordinary leaves of absence are possible up to three years, and there are separate rules for medical leaves. So, check and re-enroll after four years.”

Hye Ri was dumbfounded, unable to understand why she had to go to such lengths.

“Why can’t I attend the school for four years?”

Then a thought crossed her mind.

“Is it because of Lee Sa Rang? To avoid running into me until she graduates?”

It seemed absurd, but his silence was the answer.

Hye Ri was appalled at the sight of Do Han looking down at her, considering Sa Rang even in the moment of their breakup.

How long had they even been together?

Asking his sister to leave school for a girlfriend he had only been with for a few months.

Hye Ri, who had wanted to finish at least one semester despite having cancer cells in her body, felt disregarded by Do Han.

His lack of sympathy made her despise him to death.

“Why should I do that? No. I’ll keep attending our school. You just keep seeing her. Never break up.”

Hye Ri was confident she could break them up without agreeing to his absurd condition.

Or at least make Sa Rang despise Do Han.

If she told Sa Rang that the person who abandoned her was actually Do Han, it would be over.

With an unwavering look, Hye Ri widened her eyes, but Do Han’s voice dropped.

“If you don’t agree to this condition.”

Hye Ri was startled by his unshaken demeanor, unable to imagine what he would say next.

“I’ll tell Dad that you’ve been pretending to have panic disorder.”

“What?”

Hye Ri’s face turned pale.

Her legs weakened, and she had to lean on the desk.

Eventually, she collapsed into a chair.

As the dizziness subsided, she muttered faintly.

“…You knew, Oppa.”

That’s why he hadn’t shown any sympathy.

A hollow breath escaped Hye Ri’s lips.

“Since when did you know?”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
