“Yesterday I was……”
“It’s okay. There’s no need to explain. I won’t talk about it in detail. Don’t do it.”

While Sa Rang hoped that Do Han would say it was a misunderstanding, she didn’t want to hear anything.

In truth, she was scared to hear.

“I have to. So listen.”
Do Han spoke as if commanding, his gaze fixed on her.

“Yesterday, I slept at a friend’s house.”
He paused as if to make sure she was listening.

Sa Rang’s eyes widened at the unexpected truth.

“When Hyeri called me, she was already drunk. Since she had already informed home that she would sleep at a friend’s place, I just took her to my room. I couldn’t just leave her. And I slept at a friend’s house.”
Do Han finished speaking and washed his face with both hands.

Thinking about the misunderstanding Sa Rang had had all night, he was angry at Hyeri for causing this in the first place.

Furthermore, he despised his father for making his relationship with Hyeri this way.

“Ignore what Hyeri said to you. Ignore whatever she says in the future too.”
“How can I do that? They said you two were deeply involved. That such a pretty sister was deeply involved with her senior.”
Sa Rang poured out her inner feelings, which she wouldn’t normally have done, without restraint, thanks to the influence of alcohol.

Even if they weren’t real siblings, how could one say they were deeply involved with their brother?

She could understand being carried on his back while drunk, but why did she smile provocatively when their eyes met?

Anyone could see that Hyeri was treating Do Han not as a family member but as a man.

Sa Rang couldn’t understand Hyeri, who deliberately created this misunderstanding.

She was filled with resentment as she had been tormented by absurd imaginations all night and hadn’t been able to sleep.

Everything seemed to have gone wrong since she started liking Do Han.

“If I call while I’m drunk, will you carry me too? Will you take me to your room?”
Knowing it was unreasonable, Sa Rang couldn’t stop.

Do Han, watching her, let out a small laugh.

“I’ll carry you, but I won’t take you to my room. You live right next door.”
“That’s not the point right now. What if I live far away?”
Do Han replied by nodding his head.

“Wow, Sa Rang, you really are an amazing junior. I didn’t know you were such a humanitarian.”
“Should I just leave you then?”
Sa Rang glared at Do Han, her eyes saying why are you leaving only me?

“What do you want me to do?”
Her anger was cute, and Do Han couldn’t help but smile.

“Don’t laugh.”
“Now, do you hate it when I laugh?”
He felt a little hurt, wondering if she didn’t even want to see his face.

Then he heard a surprising answer.

“I want to kiss you.”
“…What?”
“When you look at me and smile, I want to kiss your lips.”
This was definitely because of the alcohol.

Sa Rang blurted out something she could never say when sober.

It was also because Do Han had explained yesterday’s incident in detail.

A moment ago, even him holding her arm was unpleasant, but now, she desired his lips.

As the misunderstanding was cleared, her heart and hidden true feelings flowed out.

She couldn’t gather them back.

Sa Rang decided to reveal everything today, since it had come to this.

Yoon Jae had done it before, preparing for rejection, just considering myself, and planning to burst out without regret and brush it off.

With that resolution, my courage soared.

While Sa Rang clenched her fists, Do Han had a blank face like a flabbergasted person.

Even though he was taken aback, his heart was beating so hard that he didn’t know how to respond.

Then, he let out a hollow breath.

“Do you even know how to do it?”
He had never been in a relationship, but dared to mention a kiss.

Where did he get the nerve to utter such words?

Especially in front of me.

With such a jealous expression on his face.

He doesn’t even know how scary the world is.

Sa Rang, feeling belatedly embarrassed, shut her mouth tightly. Do Han, on the other hand, was at the brink of going crazy, wanting to swallow her lips.

“A girl who can’t kiss is not attractive.”
All day, Do Han felt suffocated for not understanding her and wanted to pay her back.

Moreover, if he did not act frivolous like this, he felt like he would really kiss her.

“Can I practice it?”
“What?”
Sa Rang was unpredictable today.

Not knowing what she might do next, Do Han was taken aback.

“Learning to kiss isn’t that big of a deal. I’ll learn it.”
Sa Rang pulled out her mobile phone from her bag and searched for someone in the address book.

Do Han narrowed his eyebrows and alternated between looking at her and the phone.

“What are you doing now?”
“I’m going to call Yoon Jae.”
“Why all of a sudden?”
“I’m asking him if he can teach me.”
As Sa Rang found Yoon Jae’s name and was about to press the call button, Do Han quickly snatched the phone away from her.

“Hey! What are you doing? Why are you taking someone else’s stuff? Give it back to me quickly.”
“No.”
“I said give it back to me now.”
No matter how much Sa Rang reached out, it was useless.

Do Han put the phone in his pocket and blocked her with his body.

“By tomorrow, you’ll be thanking me. So, get up and go home.”
He got up with a scary face and walked away.

“Give me back my phone.”
Sa Rang followed him, complaining.

“Let me make a call.”
“Didn’t you hear what I said?”
“Hey! Ji Do Han!”
When she screamed loudly, Do Han stopped.

Sa Rang, who had been following him, ended up bumping her head against his back.

Sa Rang was rubbing her forehead which hurt and Do Han turned around towards her. The distance between them was hardly a foot.

Such a close distance startled Sa Rang and she stepped back.

Then, Do Han moved the same distance forward.

Again, the shortened distance made Sa Rang hold her breath.

If she breathed, she felt like she would inhale his alcohol smell.

Her heart was about to explode, not from holding her breath but from the gaze of Do Han who was looking down at her right in front.

Her eyes, unable to look straight at him, shook.

“I’ll come find you tomorrow. I’ll give it back then.”
How could he be so arrogant, taking someone else’s phone?

With a blank face, Do Han turned around and Sa Rang was at a loss for words.

And yet, she felt a sensation in her chest.

A while ago, she had imagined him leaning in to kiss her.

Even though she knew it wouldn’t happen, she did so.

Crazy, this Sa Rang.

What was she expecting and why was she disappointed?

Sa Rang let out a hollow breath at her own absurdity.

She quickly regained her composure and ran after Do Han.

He wasn’t visible anymore, perhaps he had already gone home.

“He really left.”
Sa Rang glared at his house once more before entering her own front door.

She stopped while climbing the stairs, then came back outside.

Then, she strode towards Do Han’s oneroom building.

She went up to the third floor and frantically rang the bell in front of his house.

After ringing it about five times in a row, Do Han opened the door violently.

“What do you want, you?”
While he was getting annoyed, Sa Rang slipped under his open arm and entered the house.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away

This is also on my reread list!

This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.

Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.

But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.

Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.

I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.

The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.

As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
