The Sunday morning dawned.
Excited about her date, or rather, her assignment with Do Han, Sa Rang left the house earlier than the appointed time.
She wore the outfit she’d bought while shopping with Ji Ho yesterday, but something felt off.
“Ah. This is so awkward.”
The chiffon dress that Ji Ho had chosen for her suited her well.
The length that just barely grazed her knees, the billowing material, and the shirring that accentuated her waist made the usually youthful Sa Rang look more feminine than usual.
As she was checking her reflection in the entrance glass, she heard Do Han’s voice from behind.
“You left early?”
Startled, Sa Rang’s shoulders jumped.
“I just left as well.”
The greeting was awkward, the clothes were awkward.
Not knowing where to look, Sa Rang just looked down at the ground.
Yet, she felt his gaze.

It seemed like he was taking a good look at her because she looked different than usual.
“Well, I had to prepare for the date, or rather, a real date.”
Do Han was slightly surprised at her unexpected appearance.
He thought jeans suited her well, but she also carried the dress quite well.
“Did I dress too casually?”
“No, you look fine.”
“Well, that’s a relief.”
Sa Rang couldn’t agree with his statement about dressing casually.
His black jeans, white tshirt, and grey knitted cardigan slung over it were textbook boyfriend attire.
Even the backpack carelessly slung over his shoulder looked cool.
For a moment, Sa Rang wanted to express her gratitude to the professor of “Love and Marriage.”
She wanted to bow in gratitude for thinking up such an excellent assignment.
She vowed to herself that if anyone ever asked her who she respected the most in the world, she would say the professor.
The two walked side by side to the bus stop.

While waiting for the bus, Sa Rang decided to ask a question she had been curious about for a few days.
“Was the assignment the same last year?”
If it was, who would Do Han have paired up with for the date assignment?
And by the end of the semester, what would their relationship have been like?
“It was the same.”
“So where did you go for your date then?”
Sa Rang wanted to ask about the girl he was with but refrained from asking such a direct question.
Instead, she wanted to know what kind of date he had with that girl.
“A PC room, billiard hall.”
“What? What kind of date can you have there……”
Sa Rang was taken aback.
It was so far from a typical date location that she tilted her head in confusion.
“At the PC room, we played games and ate cup ramen, at the billiard hall, we played billiards and ordered black bean noodles.”
“Ah.”
A sigh slipped from her mouth.
So he liked a woman with such hobbies.
Feeling that their tendencies were polar opposites, Sa Rang felt downcast.

She worried that he might not like the date course she had prepared for today.
“That woman seems to have quite unique tastes.”
“Why is Kim Tae Hoon a woman?”
“Huh?”
“I took the class with Tae Hoon. We only completed the assignment twice before he stopped doing it altogether.”
Sa Rang’s face bloomed like a flower.
She was overjoyed at the fact that the person who had completed the assignment with Do Han wasn’t a woman but Tae Hoon.
“But aren’t you cold?”
“I’m fine. The bus will be here soon, anyway.”
He looked at Sa Rang’s bare legs and arms with sympathy.
Even though it was March, the morning breeze was chilly and perfect for catching a cold.
Do Han took off his cardigan and handed it to Sa Rang.
“Wear this until the bus comes.”
“No, really, I’m fine.”
Sa Rang declined with wide eyes, startled by the unexpected situation.
“Is it because it’s something I was wearing?”
“No, it’s not like that.”
“If you don’t want to, I can’t force you.”
As Do Han was retracting his hand, Sa Rang swiftly snatched the cardigan.
“I don’t dislike it. I’ve actually been very cold since earlier. Thank you. I’ll wear it well.”
Sa Rang hastily slipped on the cardigan, as if afraid someone would take it away.
Wearing his clothes gave her the illusion that she was wrapped in his arms.

She felt like she would get drunk on the scent of Do Han that came to her nose.
Holding the cardigan tight with her hand, Sa Rang made a desperate wish.
Please, let the bus come slowly.
Let today flow as slowly as a year.
((())) ((())) ((()))
The first date course Sa Rang had chosen was a temple in the middle of the city.
When she searched for places to visit in Seoul in March, this place had caught her eye the most.
In the photo she saw, a plum blossom was in full bloom against the backdrop of the tiled roof of the temple, exuding a tranquil atmosphere that was hard to believe was in Seoul.
“Plum blossoms.”
As Do Han identified the flowers on the tree, Sa Rang was a bit surprised.
Friends she had known for a while couldn’t differentiate plum blossoms, which looked similar to cherry blossoms.

He was the only one around her who accurately called plum blossoms by their name.
“You know well? Everyone says they are cherry blossoms.”
Sa Rang was excited, even though correctly identifying this was not a big deal.
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
