A Marriage So Lethal (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 41
After walking a long way out past the main gate, Se Ah clung to the wall of a neighbor’s house. Her head spun in circles and her stomach churned.
She kept dry-heaving until she barely managed to calm herself down.
She shoved both hands into her coat pockets and trudged slowly toward the subway station.
Though it was only 6 p.m., darkness had already fallen, owing to winter.
Upon emerging into the downtown area, Christmas carols played in the air, and cheerful people, uplifted by year-end festivities, brushed past her.
She walked slowly, sorting out her thoughts.
She intended to keep holding on, but Nam Tae wouldn’t simply stand by and watch.
If necessary, he would even reveal the contract to Kang Woo in order to secure Min Young as his daughter-in-law—without the slightest regard for the shock and pain his son would suffer upon learning the truth.
Still, unlike before, there was now one reassuring point: she was certain that even if she went against Nam Tae’s wishes, he wouldn’t directly threaten Kang Woo.
Judging from all evidence so far, Director Lee had consistently pressured only her—the easy target—while treating Kang Woo with caution. Even the surveillance had amounted to nothing more than a warning.
In short, although he clearly cared nothing for the pain his son might endure, he wouldn’t actually harm him.
Just knowing that Kang Woo, at least, would remain safe eased her worries considerably.
Out of habit, she pictured Kang Woo’s face. Her heart fluttered whenever he gently softened his sharp gaze and looked intently at her.
The man who rarely smiled now smiled so often it felt unfamiliar. His eyes, warm and tender, seemed to regard even her smallest gestures with deep affection.
Words of love now flowed freely from lips that once spoke only when necessary—so passionately hot it was hard to believe he’d ever concealed such fervor.
