The luncheon party had ended, leaving the venue deserted. Madam Yeong Cheon and several housekeeping aides busily moved between the garden and the main house, tidying up. A few aides groaned as they lifted the long table by its two ends and carried it into the main house.

Nam Tae, standing with his hands clasped behind his back and watching hawk-eyed, cleared his throat softly—calling for Madam Yeong Cheon.

“Chairman. Is there anything you need?”

“Let no one come up to the second floor. I have urgent matters to discuss with Director Lee.”

“Yes.”

Nam Tae immediately headed upstairs to the second-floor study. Director Lee was already waiting there, standing rigidly upright in front of the study desk.

“How audacious—to act like this in my own house.”

Nam Tae scowled fiercely as he growled. Accustomed to this, Director Lee didn’t so much as flinch, already knowing—without being told—that Nam Tae was referring to Se Ah.

Nam Tae’s steps toward the sofa’s place of honor were brusque and agitated. Silently trailing behind, Director Lee stood awaiting instructions.

On the table sat a cup of Earl Grey tea, already placed there by Madam Yeong Cheon. Nam Tae took a sip, swallowing down the rising anger.

“Well then—what did she say?”

“Unlike before, Young Madam’s resistance has grown significantly.”

“Hah. As if that brat could really do anything.”

Annoyed, Nam Tae yanked his tie loose. Instinctively, Director Lee respectfully accepted it with both hands.
