At the sudden, out-of-the-blue question, Yura was left speechless, blinking only her wide eyes. Staring into Lee Hyun’s anxious, trembling eyes, she slowly moved her lips.

“Nothing… nothing’s happened.”

“Oh…”

Only then did the tension leave Lee Hyun’s hands, which had been gripping her shoulders.

Lee Hyun had been on edge—his father’s violence had unintentionally been exposed, and reporters were lurking everywhere like predators eyeing prey. On top of that, Yura’s unexpected visit seemed to have startled him.

Had it not been for everything that had happened, Lee Hyun’s behavior would have appeared indistinguishable from that of any ordinary husband worried about his beloved wife. Yet, this unwarranted concern and tenderness left Yura with an inexplicable sense of emptiness.

“I’m sorry if I worried you.”

“No, it’s just… you suddenly showed up at the office. I thought someone had gone spreading rumors again.”

As expected—it was nothing but a pointless misunderstanding and a futile hope.

“I came right after reading the article.”

“Why come here instead of going home to rest?”

“Sorry for bothering you while you’re busy.”

“It’s fine.”

Following Lee Hyun’s lead, Yura sat down on the sofa and brought up what Jin Ho had told her.

“I heard you were the one who released those articles.”
