When Yura opened her eyes, it was already well past lunchtime. Her whole body ached as if she had come down with muscle soreness, and she lacked even the strength to sit up.

As she groaned in discomfort, an unexpectedly warm breath brushed against her shoulder blade. Startled, she flinched, and then Lee Hyun’s calm voice reached her ears.

“Did you sleep well?”

Unlike Yura, Lee Hyun’s voice didn’t sound like he’d just woken up. His tone was clear and alert, as if he’d been awake for quite a while, making Yura feel inexplicably embarrassed about having slept in so late.

“What time is it?”

“2 p.m.”

“What? Two—ah!”

Surprised by the unexpected hour, Yura tried to sit up but immediately flopped back down as a sharp pain shot through her body.

“You okay?”

“Baek Lee Hyun, do I look okay to you?”

Despite her fierce glare, Lee Hyun simply smiled calmly. That only made her more irritated. It was so unfair—why did she have to be in so much pain when they’d clearly spent their first night together? And why was he completely fine? Resentment bubbled up inside her for no good reason.

“It’s unfair.”

“Haha.”

Annoyed and frustrated, Yura’s expression softened instantly at the sound of Lee Hyun’s hearty laugh—a laugh she’d never heard before.

She’d known Lee Hyun for a long time, but this was the first time she’d seen him laugh so naturally and refreshingly.
