Steam filled the bathroom as Hyun entered, joking, “Are you planning to take the blanket into the tub too?”
“Just leave it then,” she retorted, her lips pouting as she eyed the inviting warmth of the bath. The desire to soak in the tub and ease her aching body grew.
“Can I go in with the blanket?”
Her playful inquiry was met with a tightening of her lips and a furrowed brow.
“It’s embarrassing.”
“Isn’t it a bit late for that sort of embarrassment?”
She knew it was far too late for such modesty but wasn’t bold enough to wander around in just a slip.
“Leave me alone, I’ll do it myself. Please.”
Embarrassed, Yura avoided his gaze, mumbling her plea. Hyun leaned down and tenderly advised her, his lips touching her forehead.
“The heat should help ease the pain. Take your time.”

Yura nodded slowly, and Hyun relaxed his firm grip. As she cautiously stepped onto the bathroom floor and sighed in relief, she was grateful that the determined Hyun had chosen to step back this time.
“Leave the blanket there; I’ll manage,” she insisted, waving him away.
After Hyun left the bathroom, Yura spent a long time in the hot water, soothing her pain. Upon finishing her hasty shower and stepping out, she found him leaning against the wall.
After Hyun left the bathroom, Yura spent a while in the hot water, easing her pain. Drained of energy, she took a quick shower and stepped out to find Hyun leaning against the wall.
“Come here.”
At Hyun’s beckoning, Yura narrowed her eyes. Hyun chuckled and gently pulled her shoulder towards him. Looking at him suspiciously, Yura allowed herself to be seated on the sofa.
“I’ll just loosen up your muscles a bit. Won’t do anything else.”
His reassuring words were followed by him taking a position behind her.
“If we do more here, we’re no longer human.”
“Ha ha.”
Hyun’s laughter lightly filled the air at the end of her sharply thrown words. Having heard it a few times, Yura could now picture his smiling face just by the sound. She was discontent with her growing affection for him.

The kindness, gentleness, and consideration of Baek Hyun in these moments led Yura into delusion. She fantasized about a relationship beyond just a contractual one.
Yet, the indifferent expression he wore when agreeing to a business-like relationship reminded her it was all a misconception.
Yura shook off her thoughts as Hyun’s hands massaged her shoulders. She wanted to fully enjoy this moment.
The pressure starting from behind her ears made her groan. The massaging of her stiff neck and shoulders, with thumbs pressing down, was quite skillful.
As the stiffness and muscle pain subsided, she felt drowsy. Perhaps due to lack of sleep, her eyes began to close.
“…Feels good, getting sleepy.”
“Sleep.”
“I need to… dry my hair.”
Her mind had already thought of taking the hairdryer, but her body remained in Hyun’s embrace.
As she made an effort to open her half-closed eyes, Hyun’s large hand pressed gently against her forehead. Her head involuntarily rested on Hyun’s shoulder. Before she could focus on the ceiling, his hand blocked her view.

“Shh, if you’re sleepy, sleep.”
Overwhelmed by the warmth covering her eyelids and the drowsiness, Yura slowly drifted off.
“Goodnight, my wife.”
She thought she heard Hyun whispering ‘my wife’ in her ear. She wanted to tell him not to keep calling her that, but her lips refused to move.
After Baek Hyun took Yura away, Sejin’s anxiety snowballed. The Yura he remembered was clumsy in love, not one to easily embrace such feelings.
He recalled how much effort he had put in before they started dating, repeatedly expressing his feelings to win her favor. Yet, ultimately, she ran away from his threats, more piercing than the intimidation from Yugeon.
And now that he had returned, he was convinced she still loved him.
The wavering eyes and evasive gaze at their first meeting were telltale signs. He was sure the fountain pen she still kept affirmed the validity of their love.
If only Baek Hyun hadn’t interfered, Yura would have been his woman. Even now, Baek Hyun was meddling, obstructing their path.
“Baek Hyun, such an unlucky guy.”

Sejin didn’t believe Yura loved Baek Hyun. He saw her disdain for him as a way of expressing resentment. Yet, Yura’s unwavering demeanor lately was unsettling.
She was a woman who loved him deeply, refusing to let go even when cutting ties with her family. There was no way her feelings could change after a brief separation.
Above all, Yura was supposed to be the solid support behind him.
Sejin concluded that a minor incident was necessary to split them apart. And if that incident could also hit Baek Hyun, it would be even better.
“I must endure this much. To have you and get rid of that guy.”
Sejin took out a business card he had received when he entered Korea, smirking sinisterly.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
