A performance planner must cater to the artist’s preferences. Yura had done so until now and would continue to do so. So she had to accommodate Sejin’s whims, however sudden they were.
“I’ll check with the caretaker and…”
“I own it. I was fortunate enough to buy it.”
Wondering why he couldn’t have simply stated his preference for using his private studio, Yura found his actions unnecessary and complicated.
“Understood. I’ll arrange a car and driver for your commute.”
“You will.”
At his abrupt, disrespectful remark, Yura frowned, but he quickly corrected himself with a smile.
“No, I mean, Team Leader Jin, please take care of it.”
Their conversation, edging towards conflict, made Yura forget her coffee. Looking distastefully at her now lukewarm coffee, she placed it by the window.
She then clasped her hands neatly in front of her lower abdomen, assuming a formal posture as she faced Sejin.

This was a gesture akin to a warning, asking for respect and consideration. With a dry voice, she emphasized certain words firmly.
“Pianist Oh Sejin, I am overseeing multiple performance plans. I’ll ensure that your travel is hassle-free. I hope you understand my position.”
Sejin straightened his back and, pretending to be stern, responded to Yura’s words.
“Isn’t caring for me part of your job, Team Leader Jin?”
It wasn’t wrong. Indeed, it was her responsibility to facilitate the artist’s convenience. Yura belatedly realized that Sejin had changed just as much as she had.
It wasn’t the Oh Sejin from before, who always expressed apologies and concern for Yura’s feelings. He had changed into a rather cunning man, aware of his rights and unafraid to assert them.
Yura took a moment to gather her thoughts and sighed silently. If she didn’t want the performance to be canceled, albeit reluctantly, she had to accept his request.
She had considered changing the person in charge, but one of the conditions for the performance at Songrim was her involvement, making that option impossible. With cancellation and changes off the table, there was only one way forward.
“Understood. Please inform me of your practice schedule later.”
Reminding herself that conceding was the best approach, Yura accepted Sejin’s request.
As Yura looked up after bowing politely, she caught a fleeting smirk on Sejin’s face. She firmly believed she wasn’t mistaken in what she saw. Sejin was wearing a complete mask in front of her, she sensed.

However, what that mask was for remained unclear. She noticed his movements drawing closer, all the while keeping a cool gaze concealed under a lowered glance.
“Now.”
Feeling his breath on her ear, Yura’s skin prickled.
“I need to leave now. Is it a good time for you?”
Clutching her fists, Yura pushed Sejin’s shoulder.
He stepped back readily, hands raised, wearing a smile that no longer stirred any excitement in Yura. It was a sly smile, devoid of any genuine charm.
“The hotel might be far, but this art center isn’t too distant, right?”
“Just give me a moment.”
Calmly nodding, Yura passed by Sejin.
He watched Yura leave the office, then scanned her workspace.

“It feels even more barren now. Not even a common houseplant.”
Sejin remembered Yura as a somewhat dry woman.
They had whispered love to each other, gone on dates like any other couple, but Yura never had the warmth of affection. Even her occasional “I love you” felt emotionless.
At the time, he had simply attributed it to her blunt nature, but now she seemed even more desolate than before.
Returning to the office, Yura picked up her bag and suggested moving in a composed tone.
“Let’s go.”
Following Yura’s lead with a gentle expression, Sejin left the office with her.
Watching the two leave, the employees gathered around.
“What’s going on?”
“Yeah, Team Leader Jin didn’t look so good.”

Manager Jung, recalling Yura’s unusually somber face, spoke with concern. As the two disappeared behind the door, Jihye peeked around the gathered employees.
“Um, you know…”
Seonghoon motioned for her to speak up as everyone turned their attention to her. Jihye glanced around nervously before lowering her voice.
“My friend majors in piano. She said she knows that pianist, Oh Sejin.”
“Oh? Unexpected connection.”
“But, my friend said, the person Sejin dated before going abroad for studies…”
Jihye paused, causing everyone to swallow hard in anticipation. She then whispered as if revealing a huge secret, covering her mouth with her hand.
“They say it was our Team Leader Jin.”
A stunned silence fell over the office. The unexpected twist left everyone speechless, unable to react immediately.
Skepticism was evident in Manager Jung’s furrowed brows, sparking murmurs across the room once again.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
