Da Jung had never even dared to come near this place.

A place she wasn’t the slightest bit curious about—what it sold, what it was. A location she’d never properly looked at before.

The man, walking in as if it were familiar territory and strolling around like he owned the place, placed his order routinely and absentmindedly unfastened his watch. Every single move of his flowed as naturally as water—precise, concise, yet perfectly measured.

He was like a sculpted figure. Da Jung couldn’t stop worrying about her hastily worn sneakers from that morning.

That was it—not that she liked it, but it bothered her. There was no one here who looked shabbier than Yoon Da Jung, and no one who shone brighter than Lee Jae Ho.

The man scooped a small portion of salad onto Da Jung’s side plate.

“Remember that day? When we ate knife-cut noodles together.”

Da Jung didn’t answer.

“You put some knife-cut noodles onto my plate, Yoon Da Jung. I was happy then.”

She stared quietly at the plate piled neatly with salad.

“So this is me returning the favor. I want you to be happy too.”

After throwing around absurd excuses about not being able to end things or whatever, the moment the food arrived, he changed completely, as if none of it had ever happened. Da Jung was so dumbfounded she couldn’t even laugh. Comparing this meal to those knife-cut noodles! Those noodles had cost a mere 8,000 won. This place’s food surely cost far more than 80,000 won.

“I don’t want to eat.”

If she absolutely had to repay him for those 8,000-won noodles, she wished he’d accept exactly 8,000 won’s worth in return. At this point, she began to wonder if he was doing this on purpose—was this his way of punishing her for leaving without a word?
