Da Jung, who had been lying messily, sat up again. She couldn’t fall asleep no matter what.

This isn’t right.

After roughly tying up her fallen hair, she turned on the bedside lamp. She also drank a glass of cold water.

Her mind felt like it was going numb, but she thought it was right to sort out her stance before Jae Ho arrived. She had to decide what kind of face to show him. Da Jung paced back and forth in the living room, replaying the situation over and over.

[I’m leaving now. I’ll arrive around midnight.]

She checked the message Jae Ho had sent earlier once more. It was 11 o’clock now, so there was about an hour left.

Her hand trembled as she walked to the suitcase and pulled out the document envelope again. Still, she gathered her courage and unfolded the papers once more.

The letters she had skimmed past without reading properly came into view.

[Lee Jae Ho is a bad guy. He makes you feel secure like he’ll never break up, but once he goes to Seoul, he barely contacts you. He only comes looking when he needs someone to sleep with.]

Lies.

[He creates a situation where the woman has no choice but to be the one to say let’s break up. He only seeks the body, making you feel miserable the whole time. I couldn’t take it anymore and told him it was over.]

[I realized it later. This man had planned to dump me the moment the countryside trip ended. He just dragged it out because dumping me right away would look too obvious.]

Da Jung’s fingers slowly crumpled the edges of the paper.

[I hope you end up less miserable than I was. It’s better not to get dragged along and to end it first.]
