It was my first time ever taking a pet for a walk. Back in the Lupeon Kingdom, I’d barely managed to care for myself, so I never even considered getting a pet.

‘Walking together like this is really fun.’

I smiled faintly, holding the leash with a contented expression. Even though we’d only done a few light laps around the garden, it felt delightful.

“Chirp. Chirp. Chirp. (Walking is fun! It’s comfy not having to use my own legs, and the swaying feels nice. I like it!)”

Mew seemed happy too, smiling broadly.

Mew sat atop the puppy’s head, gripping the leash in its tiny hands and humming a cheerful little tune. Seeing my pet so joyful made me even happier.

Just then, Young Ae, who was holding the puppy’s leash beside me, tilted her head curiously and asked,

“Um… Your Majesty… Is it… usually how you walk a hamster… by having it sit on a puppy’s head?”

“I don’t know. My hamster always used to go for walks on its own and come back without me.”

“Oh…”

All the Young Aes walking with us tilted their heads, gazing at the hamster comfortably seated on the puppy’s head.
