I called Elihu and Jaerim as soon as dawn broke, and roughly explained the entire situation to them.

Then I told Jaerim to prepare the necessary documents, as I intended to form a pact of brotherhood—an alliance—between the Atheria Empire and our nation.

“Politically speaking, the Leonharta Empire currently has no nation it calls a brother state, so this is an excellent choice. That’s precisely what I’ve been worried about all along—our lack of a formal brother-state alliance through official documents.”

“They say divine power resides within the holy relic. I plan to use it to heal the Empress’s illness. Do you anticipate any resistance, Jaerim?”

Since Jaerim didn’t know I possessed divine power himself, I could gauge his objective reaction to the idea of using the relic.

After pondering my question briefly, Jaerim shook his head.

Jaerim, thoroughly pleased, immediately offered to prepare the documents and requested we meet at the Atheria imperial family’s residence before vanishing.

I also informed Elihu that I planned to stage a performance—pretending to heal Lisa using the holy relic.

“It’s a flawless pretext. The holy relic genuinely contains divine power, and no one can possibly deduce exactly how much power it holds. Since it’s an unknown quantity, no one will dare speak recklessly about it.”

Elihu exclaimed in admiration and gave me an enthusiastic round of applause. Beside him, Levanfel, who had been standing quietly all along, clapped just as fervently.

“Indeed, Your Majesty is a genius.”

“Of course. No one else could possibly match you.”

It felt strangely like they were calling me a genius con artist, but since it was praise after all, I decided to take it graciously. I smirked and shrugged my shoulders proudly.

“Tch-tch. Tch. (That’s not the relic I gave you for this… My relic…)”
