It felt different from the time I used my power in the Grand Sanctuary before. Back then, it felt like releasing all the power I’d accumulated until now, but right now, it felt as though someone was stealing away the meager amount I’d just gathered.

“Teriella?”

Overwhelmed by this unfamiliar sensation, I buried my face into Levanfel’s shoulder. Yet the more I touched his cold skin, the more the vortex inside me grew—not calming down at all, but intensifying.

“Haaah…”

It was hard to suppress the strange energy swirling within me.

“Teriella! Call a physician at once…!”

Noticing something was wrong, Levanfel frantically tried to turn around—but his hair hadn’t returned to its original color yet.

I reached out and grabbed his sleeve, shaking my head. A guttural cry threatened to burst from my parted lips.

I clutched Levanfel’s sleeve so tightly it might tear, grimacing in pain. Because I’d pulled him, his shirt was half-stripped off his shoulders.

Instead of calling for a physician, Levanfel pulled me tightly into his embrace.

I couldn’t hold back any longer—I clenched my teeth. Rather than screaming, I sank them deep into Levanfel’s fully exposed shoulder.

I’d bitten down so hard that a sickening sound echoed, followed by the metallic taste of blood in my mouth. Yet despite the obvious pain, Levanfel didn’t flinch even slightly.

As if trying to share my suffering, he gently stroked my head and calmly whispered that it was all right.

The wind howled fiercely, scattering Levanfel’s white hair. I couldn’t understand why it was still white, but that thought quickly vanished.
