She seemed deeply asleep, making only a faint “Mmm…” sound without opening her eyes. Her expression annoyed him.

He’d kissed her. He’d confessed. Yet here she was, sleeping so carelessly right in front of him—did that mean she simply didn’t see him as a man?

Just as Eun Woo was agonizing over what to do with Seul Hee before him, a rustling sound came from his bag. Gom Gom slowly crawled out.

“Gom Gom, you’re out?”

The pug lifted his head at Eun Woo’s voice and stared blankly at him, rolling his big eyes around to check for danger and figure out where he was. Eun Woo reached out, patted Gom Gom’s head, and picked him up.

“Feeling better?”

“Keeeng.”

Even while carrying Gom Gom toward the kitchen, Seul Hee didn’t wake. After giving Gom Gom food and water and returning to the room, she was still fast asleep, pressed flat against the floor. Worried about her sleeping on the cold floor, he called her name.

“Ms. Yoo Seul Hee.”

But Seul Hee didn’t stir at all. Finally, with no other choice, Eun Woo lifted her up from where she lay sprawled on the floor. Her small body fit snugly into his tall arms.

If she opened her eyes now, she’d probably get angry and make a fuss again. But it was her fault for falling asleep on the floor like that.

Carrying her, he walked steadily over to the bed and gently laid her down.

She was sleeping so deeply that even after being placed on the bed, Seul Hee didn’t move an inch.

Looking at her face for a moment, Eun Woo quirked one corner of his lips and headed out of the room. He ruffled Gom Gom’s head once as the dog followed him, then glanced back one last time at the sleeping Seul Hee and murmured,

“Sleep well.”
