She should have answered, but she couldn’t.
How many times had Eun Woo called her name until now?
“Did you do this correctly, Miss Yu Seol Hee.”
“Please concentrate, Miss Yu Seol Hee!”
“Please make sure to write down the medical record in detail, Miss Yu Seol Hee.”
She heard it so much that she was sick of it. She heard it so much that sometimes, she had nightmares where he would constantly call out to her, “Miss Yu Seol Hee!” His voice was always stern and rigid when he called her name.
But now.
“Seol Hee.”
The way he called her name now was nothing but tender and soft. It was so sweet and melted that she didn’t know what to say. It was a familiar voice, yet it was unfamiliar.
“Why are you just standing there? Are you okay?”
Eun Woo approached her, wondering if it was strange for her to stand still without moving. Although it wasn’t cold, he tapped on Seol Hee’s cheeks, which were frozen and wideeyed. Finally, as if a spell had been broken, Seol Hee’s mouth moved.
“Oh, yes.”
“You suddenly stopped talking. Are you upset that I used informal language?”
“No. No, I’m fine.”
“You sound too stiff though.”
As he pointed out, Seol Hee suddenly became rigid in both posture and speech, moving like a robot.
“……No, I. Uh, yes.”
“You can use informal language too. Seol Hee too.”
He said she could use informal language. And also, Seol Hee too.
She couldn’t keep up with Eun Woo’s pace.

Of course, it was Seol Hee who had told him to use informal language, and it wasn’t unpleasant, but regardless of how she felt, she couldn’t keep up with his pace. She felt dizzy as if she was about to faint on the spot.
“……I’ll take it slow. Just a bit slower.”
She needed to prepare her heart. He always went in and out swiftly. Upon Seol Hee’s careful response, he nodded his head lightly.
“Okay, then. Tell me when you’re ready.”
Was Seol Hee too nervous? Before she knew it, she was back to using formal language.
“I’ll drop the formalities then, too.”
“You can continue using informal language, sir.”
“It wouldn’t be fair, right? Let’s take it slow.”
He chuckled, looking refreshing. She felt shy and couldn’t look at him.
“Then, sir. Thank you for dropping me off today.”
Without looking back, Seol Hee quickly got out of Eun Woo’s car and bowed her head.
“Then, I’ll go inside.”
Her steps towards her house were fast.
((()))((()))((()))
It was an unusually sunny afternoon. A woman, who seemed to be in her 30s, brought a cute pug. The adorable male puppy had bright round eyes and droopy ears.
“His name is Gomgom, and he’s 8 years old.”
It was the dog’s first time at the clinic. Seol Hee typed the information the woman gave her into the computer.
“My name is Kim Hye Yeon, and my phone number is 0103324XXXX.”
While the woman was giving her personal information, Gomgom looked around the clinic, curious, with his big, black eyes rolling around.

His nose was adorably flat, and his tail curled up cutely on his drooping ears. He looked so adorable that she wanted to bite him. His fluffy tail moved gently as if he was in a good mood.
A smile spread on Seol Hee’s face.
“Gomgom is really cute.”
Normally, when she complimented a dog, the owners would happily laugh, but this owner was different. The woman answered, “Is that so?” with a gloomy expression and went into the examination room. Eun Woo was in charge of Gomgom today.
“Hello, what brings you here today?”
Eun Woo greeted Gomgom and the woman with a ‘business smile’ that he only showed during examinations.
“Oh, it’s like this.”
The woman placed Gomgom on the examination table and shrugged her shoulders.
“Recently, he’s been very weak. He doesn’t want to go for walks, which he usually likes, and he doesn’t even want to walk around the house. He even trembles when we get home.”
“Does he go to the toilet properly?”
“About that……”
The woman frowned for a moment as if annoyed.
“He used to go well, but now he’s been doing it around his sleeping bed.”
Eun Woo examined Gomgom’s chubby and short body thoroughly. The moment his hand touched Gomgom’s leg, Gomgom, who had been quietly still, let out a loud yell.
“Yelp!”
His scream was so shocking that his fluffy hair stood on end.
Gomgom had been quiet and calm since he arrived at the clinic. When such a dog made a loud noise, Seol Hee was surprised and opened her eyes wide.
“Oh dear.”

Something seemed to be wrong. The noise was too sharp.
Eun Woo had a slight wrinkle on his forehead as he watched Gom Gom tremble like a persimmon tree.
“When did this start?”
“Did they occasionally scream like this at home?”
The guardian nodded. Eun Woo observed the dog in various ways, then opened his mouth.
“I will need to examine to be sure, but based on the reaction, it looks like a disc.”
“A disc?”
“Yes, it would be good to take an Xray and if necessary, conduct a spine contrast examination, but looking at the response, it seems like a disc, a herniated disc.”
At that, the guardian tilted their head.
“Do you mean… the disc that even humans get? Is their back hurting?”
“Yes.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
