The Dolmare Animal Hospital, located along a major road in Seochogu.
The small storage room behind the examination room was a bit dim due to a burnt out bulb. Seol Hee stared at the shelves with her arms full of large boxes.
“Sigh…”
A deep sigh.
The shelves were filled with various medicines and supplies, making it hard to find any empty space.
“Where should I put these? I’m sure Doctor Ok told me last time.”
After a long hesitation, Seol Hee was about to casually put them on the front shelf when she heard someone calling her from behind.
“Miss Yu Seol Hee.”
A quiet yet low voice that makes people shiver.
Shivers ran down her spine.
Seol Hee turned around with the brightest smile she could muster, but the muscles in her cheeks were tense with nervousness.
“Yes, did you call me?”
Long lashes, a sharp nose, lips with a cold smile, and a tall stature.
Even in a loosely worn white coat, he was a man of such appearance, or rather beauty, that one couldn’t help but look.

Ok Eun Woo.
The veterinarian of Dolmare Animal Hospital, a young man who was the head of surgery.
With his shining appearance and meticulous, kind treatment, he was popular like an idol among the pet owners. There were even ladies who specifically requested Doctor Ok for their treatment.
Sure, he’s handsome.
But for Seol Hee, facing him like this was suffocating.
He opened his neat lips.
“I have something I want to check.”
“Yes.”
“Did you properly clean the examination table?”
“Yes, I cleaned it right after the treatment.”
“Not just wiped it, but cleaned it properly?”
“I think I did.”
At his sharp remarks, Seol Hee gave an awkward laugh. Eun Woo’s brows furrowed more and more.
“Show me how you did it.”
Sighing at the thought of another mistake, Seol Hee followed Doctor Ok into the examination room.
Seol Hee was a veterinary technician. Although it sounds respectable, she was still a probationary employee. So, she often got scolded by Eun Woo.
Eun Woo pointed to the examination table with his long fingers.

“Hurry up.”
Even if I did something wrong, he could just tell me to ‘do it this way.’ But he made me demonstrate it right in front of him.
You know that, right, Doctor Ok? You have a character that drives people crazy.
In one hand, Seol Hee held an alcohol spray, and in the other, a towel. She meticulously sprayed the examination table with the disinfectant, and as soon as the liquid fully coated the surface, Seol Hee wiped it with the towel.
“Hmm.”
Doctor Ok’s doubtful murmur. What went wrong?
She glanced at him.
“What did I do wrong?”
“I remember pointing this out before. When you clean the examination table, you should wipe it from end to end. If you rub it in a circular motion, the contaminants will spread.”
“Oh, yes.”
“Do you understand?”
It was something she knew even before he explained. It was a very simple task.
‘But why do I get so nervous in front of Doctor Ok?’
When she worked with other veterinarians, she never made such mistakes. But whenever he looked at her, even the tasks she was good at would lead to a series of mistakes. Was it because his gaze was sharp and it made her nervous?
“Yes, I understand. I’m sorry.”
If she stubbornly resisted, the conversation would only get longer. A quick apology is the way to shorten the scolding.
“Among our patients, those with skin diseases make up the majority. We should be thorough with disinfection, right?”
“You’re right, Doctor. I’ll pay more attention to disinfection.”
‘Yes, you’re right, absolutely right.’
Looking at Seol Hee, who was nodding and agreeing, Eun Woo raised his eyebrows. Then, he suddenly shouted a slogan.
“Prevention is!”
Confused by the sudden slogan, she looked up at him. However, unfazed, he urged her again.

“Prevention is?”
Oh, this is really annoying.
“Is the best treatment…”
Muttering weakly, he clenched his fist and shouted again.
“Prevention is!”
Oh, whatever. I’ll just follow his lead, and then it’ll end.
“The best treatment!”
Seol Hee also clenched her fist and shouted loudly. At the echo of their slogan resonating in the empty hospital, Doctor Choi, the deputy director of the hospital, opened the examination room door with a laugh.
“Ha ha ha, Miss Seol Hee. It’s late, go home if you’re done cleaning.”
“Yes! Thank you! I’ll be leaving then!”
She quickly bowed and ran out as fast as an arrow.
((()))((()))((()))
The moment Seol Hee changed her clothes, she quickly grabbed her bag and dashed out of the hospital door.
‘Freedom! Today is freedom! Tomorrow is Sunday, a day off from the hospital!’
With such joy, she took her first steps.
“Ms. Seol Hee.”
Her forward steps halted at the familiar voice coming from behind. She stood frozen, unable to move, as if she had heard a ghost’s voice.
No, no, I must have heard wrong. Why would Teacher Ok call me when I’m off duty?

As she was about to ignore it and leave,
“Ms. Yu Seol Hee.”
She sighed and slowly turned around. Just as she expected, Eun Woo was standing there, leaning awkwardly.
“Yes, Teacher.”
“Do you have plans this evening?”
Yes, I do. A date with myself….
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
