So, he thought he should let it go as an excuse for an answer.
That’s what he thought.
“Are you scared to sleep with me again?”
“I just wanted to rest.”
The answer was somewhat different from what he expected.
He thought she would come up with a shameless excuse, like she didn’t run away because of the morning’s expression or that she was scared.
Or maybe, with a face frightened by fear, she would say she ran away because of that.
Or perhaps, she would show a completely different aspect from before, conveying Chairman Cha Jisub’s intentions.
But saying she just wanted to rest.
“I won’t make excuses that I didn’t run away.”
“I ran away, that’s true.”

In the deep night-colored eyes, Yeeun initially thought it was ‘fear,’ but it seemed not to be.
“I can’t relax at all in front of the chairman.”
Looking at him squarely, she boldly revealed her emotions as they were.
“Tense all the time, trembling. Excited and fluttering.”
Rather than fear, the eyes that held excitement shook as they captured him.
“You’re uncomfortable, Chairman.”
“So what do you suggest? You tempted me not to go to Kim Hae-ri, are you canceling it?”
“Just…”
Smiling faintly, Yeeun tilted her head slowly.
“Just let me rest for an hour.”

Leaning her forehead against his arm, she lowered her eyelids.
“I’m too tired, Chairman.”
Yeeun’s voice at the end was moist with sleep.
It was somewhat pitiful.
The words ‘I’m tired’ were not a lie.
Last night, she had almost no sleep, and the aftermath of that incident forced her to run around, using considerable energy.
Reacting differently with her head and chest carrying different things consumed a considerable amount of energy.
She pondered how long she could continue this.
While contemplating, Yeeun, who got into the car, fell asleep not long after the car started.
Although in front of Doha, who was tense, trembling, and excited, she couldn’t resist the heavy eyelids.

The air inside the car was stuffy, and the seat was comfortable.
Above all, thanks to Chadoha, who found her, she felt relieved.
The seemingly ordinary her felt somewhat comforting, as if she could be anything.
Perhaps that’s why.
As if this space was hers, she fell into a comfortable sleep.
It took quite a while for her to wake up again.
“Ugh.”
Letting out a groan, Yeeun turned her head to the left.
Slowly raising her eyelids, she groped her hazy vision.
“…?”

Then, when she faced the black eyes and gaze staring at her intently, her mind cleared.
Chadoha?
Looking at her as she quickly sat up, Chadoha smiled.
“Awake?”
“You didn’t have to wake me up.”
Yeeun, checking the time, asked with her lips.
Apparently, she had slept for more than an hour and a half in the car.
Yeeun, who was combing her disheveled hair with both hands, suddenly stopped.
She thought she would naturally go to Chadoha’s hotel from Myeongdong.
However, where Chadoha’s car was parked now was her villa’s parking lot.

“Here…”
“Surprised?”
Looking at her with a bewildered face and peering out the window, Chadoha grinned.
“Did you think I’d take you to the hotel?”
Of course, she thought so. It had to be that way.
And that was the only thing she could share with Chadoha.
“Chairman, I…”
“Do you want me to touch a woman who says she wants to rest?”
Chadoha, who laughed coldly, interrupted Yeeun.
“Get off before you change your mind. I’ll let you go smoothly today.”
Tuck, the sound of the car lock being released was heard.

Then, the sound of a deep sigh followed.
“Get a good sleep, let’s meet tomorrow. Don’t collapse again.”
It was a firm voice, not showing any gaps.
Yeeun, who couldn’t say anything, opened the car door.
The cold wind stung her cheeks painfully.
Yeeun, who got out of the car slowly, closed the door.
Outside the alley, a dog barked, and the streetlight made a clicking sound as it blinked.
Chadoha’s car interior and the front of her house.
Just passing through one door, but the world had changed.
Chadoha’s car was peaceful and warm, but the place she was standing now was cold and desolate.

The loss of warmth, combined with the emptiness blowing at the end of the deserted alley, overwhelmed her with extreme loneliness.
Yeeun, who was taking steps but stopped after a few, lifted her foot.
Looking back at Chadoha’s car, which was still in place, Yeeun retraced her steps.
Approaching Chadoha, Yeeun tapped on the driver’s seat window.
The black window silently lowered, and the scent of Chadoha brushed her nose.
“Chairman.”
Chadoha’s face, turned slightly, remained indifferent.
“Why? Do you want to tell me to have another cup of instant coffee?”
“If you don’t like coffee, how about a drink?”
Staring at Chadoha’s face, showing no emotions, Yeeun continued.

“If that’s not to your liking, then let’s… have a meal together. I’ll cook for you.”
Chadoha’s red lips twisted into a slight smirk.
“You’ll regret it.”
“…Going like this, you might regret it even more.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
