11 Virtues A Hero's Civilian Friend Must Uphold (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 66
Na Eun is soft toward people weaker than herself.
Of course, calling her “soft” toward someone who towers over her in height, is male, and recently awakened his powers—preparing to become a full-fledged hero—might not be entirely accurate.
But to her, Jae Won Seo, still a high school student who hadn’t even graduated yet, with his gentle personality and inability to utter a peep against his intimidating older brother, firmly belonged in the category of “someone weak who needs protecting.”
Moreover, since that very person had made an admirable yet heartbreaking choice—to sacrifice himself for others—Na Eun naturally jumped at the chance to contact him immediately after hearing Jae Won say he wanted to meet her.
Yet, for some reason, Seon Jin, Jae Won’s direct senior and current training supervisor, had messaged saying she’d be coming along with him, and Hee Won—who’d lately been sticking to Na Eun like a bonus booklet—also decided to join, turning the gathering into an awkward affair.
Na Eun had briefly considered inviting Seung Joo as well, but firmly refused the idea herself.
She didn’t want to bother Seung Joo, who was already busy navigating the delicate beginnings of something with her beloved Seok Hoon oppa.
In any case, since they were all far too familiar with one another, there was no awkwardness at all, so Na Eun generously paid for all four meals, keeping her promise to Jae Won to “treat him to something delicious.”
Though she was soft even toward heroes—despite knowing they received payment—she didn’t mind at all treating these heroes, who rushed day and night to handle incidents across Seoul, to a proper meal.
Still, insisting that one ought to at least buy coffee after being treated to a meal, she badgered Hee Won until he finally relented, and they all settled into a nearby café.
When Hee Won grumbled pointlessly, “Why do I have to pay?”, Na Eun drew the line firmly: “You’re the highest-ranking person here.” Seon Jin added pointedly, “You should pay—it’s not like you’re poor.”
Between them, Jae Won blinked his innocent eyes wordlessly.
As they each picked their coffee from the menu, Seon Jin and Jae Won found themselves staring helplessly at the bickering pair across the table.
“Seriously, why?! I said I’ll have this—why are you interfering?”
“You’ll hit your third cup today if you get that. I told you to cut back on coffee.”
