Whenever Na Eun met them, her high school friends—who always reduced her back to a silly seventeen-year-old—were incredibly precious to her.

One evening, while enjoying delicious food at her place with her friends, Na Eun had been arguing with Seung Joo over a single piece of clothing for ten minutes straight.

“I saw it first!”

“But Seon Jin meant to give it to me!”

“But I was the one who asked for it first!”

Seon Jin watched Na Eun and Seung Joo, who were fighting right in front of her over the hoodie she’d brought, with an awkward look in her eyes.

During their rare gathering at Na Eun’s place, Na Eun had spotted a shopping bag containing a hoodie among Seon Jin’s belongings.

When Na Eun complimented how pretty the hoodie was, Seon Jin had casually tossed out a tiny spark by saying, “It’s not really my style anyway—I got it as a freebie. I was actually going to give it to Seung Joo.”

Excited, Na Eun immediately asked for it, and when Seung Joo joined them a bit later and also said she liked the top, a tug-of-war over the clothing began.

Knowing full well that although her friends usually gave in so easily to each other, they’d somehow become oddly childish in situations like this, Seon Jin scratched her head, sympathizing with the shrimp caught between two battling whales.

The two, each gripping opposite ends of the hoodie and pulling back and forth, finally turned to look at Seon Jin simultaneously.

Avoiding their burning gazes—pleading for her to take their side—she looked away.

“Just give it to me! I’ve been having such a hard time lately because of Jae Kyung Han!”

Like a spoiled cartoon character from an old anime yelling “It’s Danbi’s turn!”, Na Eun clung desperately to the hoodie’s edge, making a noisy fuss from every angle.
