“Just someone I know.”

“Someone you know?”

The woman laughed, exasperated.

Curving her thumb and index finger one after another as if counting, the woman twisted the corners of her mouth.

Hee Won, who had been silently listening, called out to her, but she mocked him while swinging the bag she held.

“You still seem to be in the latter category—better pull out fast before you become the former. That guy’s seriously trash.”

Having unintentionally overheard their entire conversation earlier, Na Eun gave an awkward smile but didn’t deny the woman’s words.

Only Hee Won silently swallowed his curses and averted his gaze.

The woman glared at Hee Won with contempt, clearly unwilling to deal with him any further, then abruptly left—and once again, only Na Eun and Hee Won remained in front of the convenience store on the empty alleyway.

Na Eun stared blankly at Hee Won.
